Well...I tried to run the hornet again after rebuilding it and the thing wags soo much. I could never really got it flying correctly so I just left it there. I tried to test is out just now and it wags soo much. I already tried adjusting the gyro but I duno what is going on. I uploaded a video to show you guys.

the blades are off and as I increase the throttle towards the end, you can really see the wag.

oh yeah...im running the ms 044hh gyro with hs 50 at the tail.

When all else fails, altitude prevails

Humble opinion

I had not as severe, but similar problem. Try slowing your head speed a bit i.e. 10T pinion. Try getting it off the floor in rate mode instead of HH it might suddenly smooth out once airborn. If it fly’s better in rate than HH it is your radio setup. It might seem counter intuitive but it worked for me and befuddled my heli advisor.

That is just awful mate, looks like crazy vibes to me, made worse as the frame and landing gear vibes on the hard surface. If you can feel any buzzing resonant zones in the frame or tail boom then the gyro will malfunction. Check for bent shafts and static balance and match centre of gravity for tail blades, flybar assembly and main blades.

Rate mode is easier to setup without wag but HH mode will work once you eliminate system slop and vibes. I had almost as much trouble caused by a tail hub hole drilled slightly offset at manufacture.

Against all advice I mount my MS-044 gyro on a thick sponge pad and my tail is smooth and pretty solid at 80% gyro send HH mode with HS-50 servo.

Dark Horse I think I will site check mine for vibration as well. I think you and I were leading to a similar conclusion mine was more a bandaid for vibration reduction. While it seems your advice is more of the root cause. Darnd if I don't know everything after 8months HA HA
