I stand corrected... They made a public showing of it at the 3D Masters. Great job Team Avant... Very nice looking heli.

I am glad to see the Aurora show up at the 3D Masters. But even that one is not flyable yet, no tail push rod. Hope to see one fly at IRChA.

What hard evidence do you have that the two years of delays in the release of the Synergy was due exclusively to testing and resultant design changes and not to a poorly managed product development process??

The Avant already as a proven head, and a properly designed and engineered heli will have been thoroughly tested in the prototype stages prior to its production version release to team pilots.

Who knows or cares how long this may have taken. Augusto just did it right IMO and I'm confident that the product will bear this out and prove the skeptics wrong.

Does not make sense.

And this is coming from a guy named Harry Crumb... LOL

Just because the Synergy took an eternity to get to market... with zero feedback from JK or TB along the way... does not mean it has to be that way with everyone. Do not underestimate Augusto...

The Aurora looks awesome!!! Nice work!!!

Your post appears to be a statement of fact. Mine was obviously an opinion.

Synergy OR Aurora? I really would not mind having both!

But seriously, I'm just in love with Aurora. She is so, so SEXY!

Sorry, no evidence just common sense and what evidence do you have that the Aurora is being properly engineered, designed, tested and manufactered for high volume?

One difference is that Augusto and his team have built up a credible technical/engineering reputation here which translates to excitement when products come out of the pipeline.

His in-depth explanations and engineering prowess with the CAD drawings showing stress modeling certainly adds to his portfolio.

Not trying to attack anyone but you can be the best pilot in the world but that doesn't make you an great engineer. No matter how good a pilot you are, there will always be someone younger and better. The same cannot be said for designing a helicopter...

Questions to PONDER? The hole in the fan shroud for the carb intake? The shroud looks awesome but? Also have not seen any CAD, or real life on the clutch assembly? Anyone have input here? Just interested to see what may be involved in alignment etc.

I asked Augusto how the Aurora Start Shaft interfaced with the clutch/flywheel assembly and his response was "with a one-way bearing". My opinion is that any modern heli should have the flywheel/clutch assembly decoupled from the start-shaft (as is the case with the Aurora). Otherwise, you are asking for set-up or vibration problems.

So the conclusion is the szabos were going to fly it at 3DM but the bird itself just wasnt ready yet? They flew their rex 600's as their backup birds?

Cant wait till its ready! looks like a sweet heli! and under 1K its not a bad price!

Hey, some n00b questions. This heli is 100% US design right? What do we know about manufacturing? Asia? This heli will have no affiliation with Hirobo at all right? Carbon extreme is the company? This is their first full bird hey? How long as CX been in the heli industry? They started out as just upgrades only right? Augusto is a heli Veteran from the states yeah? and runs that heli video server site right? Does he own CX? or has CX contracted him to design their heli for them?

Cheers guys, apologies for the million and one questions, just trying to place this heli and get a bit of a background on it.. Big chance I might get one! lol
