Service members are looking for a radio-controlled aircraft the Air Force lost on July 26 during testing at Fort Drum, N.Y.
Personnel with Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome Research Site lost contact with their aircraft, which reportedly had a wingspan of about six feet, around 11:30 a.m.
Rome Research Site spokesman Fran Crum said officials believe the aircraft ran out of fuel and grounded itself somewhere. It had not been found as of 3:30 p.m.
According to a Fort Drum press release, Army and Air Force personnel were searching the area where the UAV was last seen.
If anyone outside of Fort Drum finds the aircraft, its location can be reported by calling Fort Drum Range Control at (315) 772-7152. |
