Link still down

Can you put some of them up on here since the link is dead? You know the important ones that we all want to know. BTW the synergy forum is up now. Didn't know if you saw that.

Thanks,
Greg

I don't think they looked too bad especially when you consider those are retail prices. Hoping that distributor pricing is a little less.

In all, the prices are pretty reasonable. All the standard crash parts are competitive, frames are downright cheap, main and crown gears are expensive. In all, it looks Raptor level affordable.

I don't know what I was expecting but here is what I am looking at. Mainly due to the fact that I just bought a used Extreme.

Frames 36 each which is almost identical to the Extreme G-10
Boom 20 bucks, same for the aluminum one on the Fury
Tail box set, about the same if you got the fury set
Tail shafts, about the same
Gears... Same thing.
Canopy 68 bucks, Fury. Same thing, pretty close.

I love the idea of the Synergy. I really do. I like the heli and it's looks. etc.etc. etc. I just don't think it's the killer blow to M/A because the spares are SO much cheaper. I believe it's very well built. Look at the two perfectionists that were involved in every aspect of it. I will get one when I total the Fury however I don't think that saving a couple bucks here and there on parts is justification to sell the Fury at a loss and get one. Does anyone feel the same way? Don't take this as a Synergy bash in the least bit. I think that M/A may not be as overpriced as I had thought them to be originally. Now the Carbon on the Stratus..... Now that is expensive. They need to make some G-10 for all of us that don't care what it looks like.

I think the benefit of the Synergy over the Fury is going to be the reduced parts count. Less parts to replace in a crash and that means a lower repair bill overall. Plus, I think it might take less time to repair the Synergy over the Fury in a crash. Totally speculation on my part though considering I've never owned a Fury.

Nothing but time over here

I had a tempest before and it's very similar along with the Vigor CS I owned. You pretty much get the same stuff no matter how you crash. I sat down the other day and priced all the normal stuff such as the main shaft, spindle, t/b, t/q tube, t/r hub, t/r shaft, bevel gear and the frames and landing gear, canopy. Just to see what M/A was charging. Well I came to the conclusion that to make an honest comparison you really need to compare the like components such as the alluminum boom. Same price. Jason and Todd told quite a few guys at the class I took in Maryland that when they crash to just get the alluminum boom. The carbon just wasn't worth the money. Same with Carbon frames versus G-10. The weight savings were negligable and strength you couldn't tell when flying it so it boils down to a bling thing. This was two years ago when they just left M/A. He only had the prelim drawing of the synergy at that point but he told many of the principles that are in the synergy. Metal isn't always good. Especially in bearing blocks. Those sort of things are cheaper however is it enough to justify selling the fleet and buying all synergy. For me..... Not untill I bury the Fury really good and don't have the parts to fix it and the price is up over 500 or higher. The overall parts count may be down, I'm not for sure but the priciple of operation is all the same. You tend to break the same things. Time will tell though. Make no mistake about it. That thing is STILL BAD A$$$ IN MY BOOK. I just don't have the cash to throw around. By the way thanks all you guys for paying your taxes!!! You all will be responsible for my Synergy when I get it

I"m with you, I'm not going to get rid of my Fury to get one of these. It is a nice heli, with some cool design features, and the parts are comparable, but lets be honest here, how many people can outfly their Fury? If you can't, then why take a loss on it? Also, the Fury's been out a while, so a lot of the times you can get used parts to save money, plus, it's been out long enough for the weaknesses and bugs to be known and worked around. It'll be a year at least before we know all the weaknesses in the Synergy.
