Tail Pitch Bellcrank Replacement
Due to recent incidents involving breakage of the Tail Pitch Bellcrank, we have redesigned and beefed up this arm.
The reasons behind these breakages have not been accurately determined; we believe possibly increased vibrations and increased power available from the G26 engines may increase the chances of this occurring. Vibrations stemming from out of balance tail blades and/or out of track tail blades, may also have contributed.
Please immediately replace your Tail Pitch Bellcrank with this new one, prior to next flight, using the same procedures as stated in your assembly manual. In addition, ensure that you’re tail blades are balanced and tracked properly.
You will notice the outermost hole has been deleted, it was not needed with the use of today’s HH gyros, you should be using the inner hole if using a Futaba 401 gyro and servo.
If you need additional bellcranks or other hardware to complete this replacement, call us at 269-445-2060.
We strive to build a reliable machine that can be depended on to fly with a minimum of necessary maintenance and required continual replacement of parts. The beefing up of this bellcrank is intended to maintain that reliability, and is in no way to be considered as a design flaw in the original part, only a needed improvement with the advent of more powerful engines, more payload possibilities, and more “newer” people beginning to use these machines.
For assistance with tuning issues, contact Gary Travis at Armedinstitute@AOL.com for a copy of a DVD that Gary put together to show how to tune the Zenoah engines for exceptional smoothness.
Please accept this new bellcrank with our compliments.
