I'm sure you have some $$$ tied up in your Avant, don't skimp on your servo selection, as Auguato mentioned you want a good set of servos that will handle the torque, take an extra week, save a few more bucks and do it right, you won't regret it.

Yea but i see 9451's have 121 onces on 6 volt so if i run them on 5.4 they should have about 102oz or if i knew that a futaba gyro and servo could go on regulated 6v them i would just run tthem on 6v. Its either those or 9350's.

voltage

I run the 9451 servos on 5.6 volts. I get the best of both worlds.

Cheap and somewhat reliable servos are from Hitec, they are high specs and pretty fast as well, Carbonite gears are strong, and doesnt wear down as fast as metal gears... -am not paid to say that

however IMHO they dont center properly.

I hate hitec servo(no offense thanks for the inquire) but they have never been any good for me. I would never put them in anything that worth anything.

Augusto has one of his Avants with S9151 servos that he thinks are just as fast as the S9252s when using CCPM.

The complete answer is if the servo is rated for high torque with plastic gears it's possibly safe to assume that the designers had the ratios between the gears designed such that the actual applied stress per tooth wouldn't be enough to break the tooth at that rated torque. So if the servo is rated to a certain torque over 110 oz or so it should withstand the stress of a high mobility head setting.

That being said I would not use the plastic geared servos simply because the metal geared servos are available and we are talking about a rotor that if out of control could seriously injure a person. Any extra precautions such as using metal geared servos is always on the safe side. That's why we always recomend to use metal geared servos.

Augusto.

So no one knows if a gy601/9251 can be ran on regulated 6 volts?

I dont understand why the Airtronics Digital 94758Z Servo works great but it only has 92oz of torque, and if alan uses these i know they were pushed.

Heliman, to be honest i would never use the Hitec servos on larger helis again, btw i was just giving you options as you were on a 'budget' for electronics. anyway, as for the 601/9251 combo, the gyro can take it, but the servo cant. you can run a Duralight 5.3v step down to the tail servo or to the gyro, and run 6v to the cyclics and throttle.

go for 9255s on the cyclics, you cant go wrong with them, pls dont try to save up, you've come very close already with you Avant, just finish it off with some nice electronics.

Im just going to use 9451's on 6v,that 121oz of torque. Or 9350 on 5.4 volts,or 9255's on 5.4. Those are my 3 choices if someone can persuade me that one is really bettetr than the 9451 then i will but i really dont see why they are not good.

You know what im only going to live once right?? Where is the best place to get 9351's? Or 9350's. I am just going to buy the best for once. Or are there better ones? I just cant find either of them.

i would go with the 9451's on 6 volts.... the 9350s, and 9351s are too slow, esp on 5.4

Gyro

The 601/9251 can be run on regulated 6 volts. The more voltage to that servo, the sooner it will fail. Less voltage will get you the same performance but better servo life. Run 6 volts on the 9251 ccpm servos and get a voltage reducer for the tail servo, or just run 5.6 volts on the regulator....my two cents.

Ok you guys gotta make up your mind, i am looking for something the run on 5.4 volts.Jr,Futaba i dont care, i just want servo i can use. I thought the 9351' are very fasy because the torque they put out,i am thinking the airtronics is the way to go.

When I flew the Avant, I ran Airtronics 94758s for pitch, ele, and ail. They performed flawlessly. They're also metal geared servos so they'll stand up to the abuse that the Avant will give them when you set it up in "crack mode".

I like KoPropo 2123 servos. Very very fast, lots of torque and metal gears. Been running them for a year in my Avants. No failures.

Top servo, as per MHW recent test on popular servos.
