Does anyone know heli_guy37, aka Josh Hughes from Central, Ohio?

I sent him $50 money order for a Futaba 6XAS radio on 6/6/2006. It arrived at his post office on 6/9/2006. He didn't pick it up for almost two weeks, I think it was picked up on the 20th. This is okay, he claimed that the post office didn't leave him the note until then in his message on the 21st, He said in this message that he would ship the radio out right away with a "2 day shipment". I didn't request or expect this, as shipping was included in the $50. I was happy to wait since the radio would mostly be a spare and a buddy box. It has now been too long though, and I haven't seen the radio yet. What's worse is, he has not responded to 3 different PM's simply asking if it was shipped, if so what date and by what method, and if not, please tell me when you will able to fit it into your schedule to ship. I think I have been very patient, and am starting to get upset about losing my $50. SO, does anyone know how to get ahold of him? PM me an email address if possible...

Thanks...
Andrew

PS..I have't posted anything to the "good-guy" list yet, I don't want to post negative...but I am starting to wonder if I will ever get what I have paid for?

Keep in mind that what you post to the 'good guy list' is not editable, as far as I know. I think it's an excellent place to post a rip-off experience, but just make sure that that is actually the case before you do so (not some legitimate reason for delay).

No but you could always post a follow up saying something was resolved, both would show up when you clicked the "find me..." link.

I called his house and talked with his mother (Yes, he's 16 or 17).
She told me she would make sure it (the ESC I ordered from him) was shipped the next day and call me.
Notta, now we know where he gets it from.
I let a message again to call me back and neither person does.
Definately scammed.

On a similar post I mentioned Mail Fraud being a Federal Offense. It seems to be now that in addition to that he's committing wire Fraud by advertising via the internet. He's probably got several scams going at once - perhaps even moving stolen property. Someone needs to give that little slap happy bastard a wakeup call.

It doesn't matter how much $$ he took. In fact, add theft and deceptive trade practices to the laundry list and this guy's in real legal trouble.

I don't want to sound Draconian, but it screws all of us when this kind of thing happens. It makes everyone nervous about future trades and sales which in turn ruins it for the good guys. 99% of us are not like this kid, but his actions put a veil of uncertainty on the whole idea to trusting your fellow modeler.
This guy is probably laughing with his little punk friends about the $$$ he's scamming on the internet. It makes me sick!!

I'd send a certified letter to his parents stating the facts and the amount paid. Attached would be an ultimatum for delivery of stated goods or a full refund within 1 week of reciept of the letter. Make sure it's certified and include a copy of the Police Report you'll turn in if they don't delivery as advertised. Finally, let them know you'll be going to the local District Attorney and begin legal proceedings.

Good luck.

Yep - you're totally right about that. For 50 bucks the fight would be for priciple only.
