I did a search and did not find anything? What is the best kit to buy to make a corona CP? Does it work well?

RescueHelicopter,

Over a year ago Choppahedz marketed a CP head, but it didn't go anywhere. There is a person on RC Groups, by the name of "BQuick", who just made a homemade head, but only one-of-a-kind.

Right now the only real solution is to get the Corona Collective Pitch Rotor Head offered by Ballistic Technology's (B-Tech). It is being sold through HeliHobby for $224.00. I was lucky and purchased mine from B-Tech in October as a pre-order for about $55 less. It's mandatory that you also purchase the B-Tech 7-mm shaft and tail belt drive for this upgrade to work. I had all those upgrades, so the CP was well worth it.

Nothing like setting governor mode and getting a constant head speed and adjusting altitude by pitch instead of throttle. And no more tail wags when decreasing or increasing throttle. I love the head.

That being said, if you have a plain-Jane stock Corona, the CP head and other upgrades might be too much money to spend on the old 120. You might be better off with another CP heli. However, I doubt you will find a CP heli head that is as rugged as this one.

You should probably just get another heli that is made for doing collective. The Corona is a nice heli to learn on and is best left in its original state. I still have mine and fly it when I just feel like being lazy and just want to go out and kick it around for some cheap thrills.

The newer heli's are so much more advanced than the Corona.

One thing to add about the BTCP. It doesn't work on all crutches, so check for comptability first. I think the stock alu is okay and the Blade Crutch from Btech but all others needs modification to the 3rd servo mounts. Especially the chopper 1 crutch

Get a t-Rex if you are looking for collective. I say adding brushless and maybe some chassis mods would be about it for the Corona. Dont get me wrong....I have owned my Corona since 2001. I will never get rid of it....I will never mod it out any more that what it currently is. To me just not worth it....
