There is always that question of what screen resolution people are using?.. There are people using 1600 x 1200 or Higher.. ( Which myself mostly using) hene Huge pictures doesn't affect me much.. I kind of like it with high speed cable modem

. I feel kinda sorry for those who are using lower resolution such as 800 X 600 resolution and a dial up modem ie 56k. I found there are people sometimes posted huge pre-resize photos.. either don't know how to do it or just posting it straight out of the high resolution digital camera. What photo size you guys think should be standard for viewing for most readers here??

How about 1152 x870?

I run 1152x870 on a 21" Sony FD Trinitron and my second monitor is a 17" running at 1024x768 but it isn't the main desktop. It is more for tool palettes and such.

I think a photo size 600x450 pixels is plenty big for the web. For the bandwidth impaired, it will help download times for them. I know what you mean about some of the large photos. Personally I have a cable modem so that isn't an issue.

1028x1024 is my choice at home, too bad its not in the poll and Mark has taken out the feature where people could add a new choice to a poll probably due to people abusing it......

The Survey here helpins Mark , me or anyone who's designing web site where most user are viewing. I understanding Not All screen resolutions are listed. those are just more commonly used. Just trying to determined which one most user used.

So far from the votes it can be seen that 800x600 is what a site should be designed for unles you want to ignore 20% of your audience. My page is designed to be vieable on an 800x600 browser window.

The problem is an 800x600 page will look very goofy on someone screen viewing at 1600x1200. Dynamically adjusted pages are the best that take advantage of all the screen area that there is yet they scale down to fit on 800x600 nicely. This is pretty hard work to do so I just go with the 800x600 as standard for now.

In a couple of years I'm sure 1024x768 will be the standard so I'll upgrade the site then
