| As many of you know we recently discontinued the custom canopy paint service on our website. This was due to the lack of availability of high quality canopies from the original equipment manufacturers. We experienced continuous problems with canopies cracking during the graphics application process. While we love painting canopies we could not be responsible for poor quality fiberglass work on available OEM and after-market canopies. About a month ago we were approached by Agusto and given an opportunity to examine a 90% complete production prototype Aurora and its canopy. We were so impressed with his product that we have chosen to join forces with Team Avant in a marketing agreement.
Effective August 1st we will reopen our canopy painting service to support Aurora customers and Avant team members. We are pleased to make this announcement and are looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Avant and Aurora owners.
We have decided to go this direction due to the quality of Aurora's canopy. The canopy is made of fiberglass and epoxy resin. It has a uni-directional ply around the aft edge making it nearly impossible to crack. The shape is an ideal platform to display DYD paint jobs and the quality of not only the canopy, but the helicopter itself vastly exceeds anything we've seen in 25 years of RC flying.
On July 15th we will open a new website dedicated to heli paint- www.DYDHELI.com This website will have systems in place to better serve our customers. We will start taking pre-orders for Aurora canopies exclusively on that date.
