Looking good, nice one.
I guess it now comes with the mount for the gyro on top of the mainframes, behind the mast or is this your own doing?

Counting down the days eagerly awaiting...

P.J,

How come you've got your Synergy dude???

Thought the release date was 28/07/2006!!!

What happened to:

"You will not be able to get your hands on one earlier anywhere "

How do you rate it so far?

Is there other gearing options available. say for a YS 91?

Thanks!
Christian

Cheers 4 the thumbs up!!
My synergy was part of build testing to check the manuals, and assembely The heli is stock with the gyro mount at the rear and you can still choose the forward location and this beauty is well worth the wait!!!!

Ricky M.

John M posted something about trimming around the clutch bell area on the first page of this post.

Is there anything like that needed or is it a clean build and everything fits as it's supposed too? Any quirks you noticed during the build or was it straight forward? As for the head, are the directions clearer for the different setting than say the Tempest FAI that I had didn't say what the differences were in the flying characteristics. It left it up to experiment and research in other means.
I think I have just found the real reason for me being in Iraq.... Tax free money for a Synergy!!!! Let the laundering money from the old lady begin!!!

Thanks,
Greg

Hi,
There was no trimming reqired around the fan shroud- clutch area although some care is needed to establish a good alignment with no rubbing ot the cooling fan and good pinon to main gear mesh, once this is good everything slots in place well!! my build was still pre production ie no shiny box etc and drawing as aposed to wording in instructions!!
I guess there will be lots of tips in the full manual on set up and the rotor head settings are staight forward and things go together well

Head settings

Ricky M,

How many settings are there on the head and which are you using? What are the characteristics for each if you have them? Have you flown it yet and what did you do for the gear mesh settings? Just the typical trial and error or any special tricks I may be unaware of? I appreciate the info

Greg

Hi
there are three fly bar to main blade ratios on the fly bar carryer and two settings on the wash out arms I can't quote the ratio's off hand but on the inside hole on the washout arms and the outside of the flybar carrier give you a stable- high fly bar input. the middle seting(which mine is on) gives the medium-3d setting (I like) and the inner setting further reduces the fly bar input for 'hard core 3-d' I haven't flow this setting personaly but as i understand it will satify anyone who prefers fast settings!!
No particular tip's on the gear mesh just minimal back lash without harsh running and a shim to ajust the crown gear for tail.Absolutly sraight forward even for me!! advisable to check the play in the main shaft after a short hover (If the builder did not tighten the mast lock collar) as the crown gear will move up and down with the main shaft (as they are both mounted on the main shaft)

hope this helps some as I'm not the most tec person to comment on rotor head systems

Ricky M,

Awesome info on the head. I'm not the most technical person either when it comes to flybar ratio's. I like the Tame, Medium 3D and crazy as hell label idea. Does the kit come with the appropriate shims for the mesh? It sounds like the main shaft and the crown gear set up is similar to the CS. You had the same problem with that if you forgot to tighten the mast locking collar. I take it the mast collar has 4 screws to lock it down? Is there any support on the bottom of the crown gear by chance? That was one thing with my Vigor that was a pain if you balled it up. Once I put the support under it I never broke another tooth and that gear was expensive. I really appreciate the info. So for servo and head set up everything went together pretty much stratight forward? Todd and Jason at their class teach all the mixing levers, flybar carier, swashplate etc level at flat pitch and servo's to neutral so I would assume this thing is designed to make that pretty easy to achieve?

Thanks,
Greg

The mast locking collar does have 4 locking screws, and sits under the top bearing

The servo setup was very straight forward, as with any eccpm all bell cranks, servo arm and rods at 90 degrees, +- 12 degrees pitch, just followed the rod lenghts from the manual, adjusted rods slightly and atv's at field to get tracking correct.

Just about got 12 tanks of fuel through ours, will start to lean it out, feels very light and very crisp.

The Build was very straigh forward, i like the twin collet on the fan, makes getting it lined up a breaze.

The bottom bearing block is under the crown gear for support.

Clips for the tail pitch slider are tricky, but you do get spares in the kit if one pings off i found the easiest way to get them on is to use an old TT tail hub over the top of the clip and tap the top of the TT tail hub down

As per andy's experiance for me good build and easy set up,the link lengths given are good and the ccpm I have working well with some tips from Roder at skyline also the shims are in the kit I used one in my build up, crown gear support is good with an aloy mount for the gear (thru bolted) and the lower main shaft bearing below this assembely
