I just started flying helicopters and have a blade cp. Upon more research I think the falcon would be a better choice for me. I went to ebay and the falcon is listed as a buy it now for 225, also included in the kit are carbon fiber main rotor blades, simulater software, training cable, the ping pong balls. Can't think of the offical name. Oh and there is a spare set of carbon fiber main blades. This is over and above the complete kit.

Great report thank you!
As a 1st time buyer I was comparing this heli to these:
E-flite blade CP pro -249.00
Twister CP V2-195.00
Raptor Z400 G2-185.00
Dragonfly 39 6ch micro heli(brushless)-299.00

any feedback is welcomed,

Samuel

falcon transmitter reversing switch settings

I have just gotten a 3d falcon and want to know the reversing switch settings There is also a 4 port connecter comming from the battery itself along with the main power leads, does this just hang or does it have a place to plug in? The reason for the questions is I went to check the servos turned on tx then plugged in the li po battery. After plug in the copter beeped and twited a little. when the gyro set I set it on the ground with my right stick to test the head for forward and backward, right and left roll. then i was going to do a slow wind up on the main rotor to check the throttle and blade pitch.
It twitched and shot straight up doing 360's on the way up. I asked for a mode 2 controller and a 72.810 mhz cystal was sent. I have been flying the simulator with the transmitter before i went to test the servo's and motor. Any help with these questions would be a great help as I am new to flying heli's. actually if you would like to add your 2 cents in on anything i would be very greatful.

I have bougth one of these helis as well. But I have trouble with the
tail rotor..When I start up the main rotor, the helicopter does a couple off spinns before it stables. And I always have to adjust the rudder because it wants to do slow spinns, when i get it in the air.. The tail servo just don`t want to stand still..

Anyone upgrade to the now available Aluminum parts?

I just received all the main head alum parts minus the backordered tail rotor parts. I was curious if anyone has been able to reassemble the head correctly. I have been working on it for two days and it still isn't right.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Auto Pilot FMA Direct CPD4 vs FS8CP Falcon 3D

I have seen many write ups but few are saying which specific model they have bought. Hope this helps, called Howard at FMA direct 301-668-4280 howard@fmadirect.com, great guy knows his stuff and will speak technical, he steered me to the FS8CP $69 plus $7 shipping vs. CPD4 $114 plus $7.00 shipping , says it will not work on the Falcon 3d or is challenging, says the FS8CP is easy, has a learning curve switch, I am not the one to spend when one is on a budget but the hassle is worth eth extra money and feel it will be withy me on any RC I own in the future, he didn't sell me up on the next model the FS8CPZ -Vertical Sensor, was very impressed that he was real and said I don't need it , my assumption is that if I had the extra money great but you will be just fine. Folks seems like FMA direct is customer oriented and has Tech support, a hard cry from http://www.xheli.com/ warning will Robinson stay away, low prices low quality service, they took my order and wasn't clear with shipping when trying to cancel or change 5 min latter never replied, yet Hobby lobby was GREAT, they lead the industry in customer service! FMA direct excellent sales and tech support!!! http://fmadirect.com/

i just recently purchased a falcon3d from hobby lobby as you immply it appears to be great in all asspects. it flew great right out of the box with only 2 clicks of rudder trim. My only problem is living most of the time in desert areas the plastic covered blades tend to have a short life.I would like to know if there is a reasonable priced 630mm fiberglass blade I could substitute for the stock blades and who might handle them

falcon 3d blades

thanks for the info on the blades. I found some glass blades at epyaya.com for about 17.00 usd. that I think will fit. I have also looking for less expensive tail boom setup.I think I have found all the parts to make a fibre glass boom including bearings and tail drive shaft for about half the cost of the falcon aluminum boom tube alone if interested let me know . thanks again.

You're welcome , I'm always looking for cheap parts and replacement options also

For the tailboom I use a Easton 2212 arrow shaft that I get from a local archery shop . They cost me about $2 each and I cut to 14 3/16" long . It's a perfect fit for the stock boom and bearings etc ..

12 Volt Battery Charger

I purchased my helicopter from Hobby Lobby. The instructions are the pits. The battery charger is not the one shown in the instructions. It has a green light and a red light. What does this mean? Hobby Lobby said that the AC charger(shown)but not included was dangerous and would possibly catch fire.

Any suggestins? I haven't tried to charge the battery yet.
