It seems I may be stretching the glide a bit too much and ending up with not enough at the bottom.

Will a more vertical auto give you better turns at the bottom? I know it depends on the pitch too.

Also I am working up to inverted autos with the machine coming from left to right and then flipping it and landing tail first. My question is about collective management during the flip. Should I be flipping it first with cyclic control and then make the transition with the pitch after it's upright? Or should I be making the transition with collective at some point during the flip?

Thanks for the input.

Jeff

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

The positive is in during the decent. Move to zero pitch, and at the same time, start your flip. You need to be at zero pitch during the flip. Then make your pitch negative when the flip is done, or nearly done.

Start high. Make sure you end up into the wind (the wind from your right.)

As far as having more at the bottom, it could be lots of things. Steeper, faster with a harder flair will generally get you more at the bottom. Depends on blades and 20 other factors.
