e-Quick Of Japan EP-8/10/16/18 > please help, my EP-8 is pale

Today I faced a problem for the first time. I was hovering my EP-8 for too long and noticed a small change in the color of aluminum parts on my heli. I thought ‘GOSH… IT STARTS HAPPENING TO MY BIRD’ and immediately landed. Close inspections revealed the first spots of oxidizing.
Now I need to know what will be the final color of the aluminum parts when the corrosion will settle. I have to re-paint my canopy and cover my wooden blades with matching shrink-wrap color. I can’t tolerate a wrong color combination that affects my flying style.
If a solution can’t be found, I’m seriously thinking to change my flying style to 3D, this way the different colors, textures and materials of my EP-8 will mix up during flight and will give the illusion of an ultra-high-tech rc-heli bought from outer space.

(ps.I know what, why and where to buy. I do my research in advance)

I commend you on your choice of username!

Since you failed to recognize the point of the entire discussion, I shall endeavor to make it clear for you.

The manufacturer and distributors, like so many in society today, left a few details out of their hype. I never said the heli was crap – I said that what arrived in the delivery was different from what was/is advertised.

I hope you can sleep better now.

LOL! I couldn't have said it better myself, zero. (Talk about personality disorders!) You wouldn't believe the PMs I have received in the last several hours. Commical at best but unfortunately, very sad.

Yeah I hear the new QJ6 Quick will come with a new improved 16 piece canopy and new wood grain shrink wrapped Carbon fiber blades.
the wood grain will come in 3 wood types, mahogany, maple, and koa.
There will also be wooden blades with Carbon fiber shrink wrap.
There wont be any anodizing but there will be an option to have all the aluminum parts shrink wrapped in white shrink wrap to hide the oxidation.

You kids sure take any critique of your shiny (soon to be oxidized) new toys, to heart!

I still never said the QJ8 was crap (for those of you that seem to have an impossible time comprehending this) – but I refuse to do business with any company that puts one thing in their advertisements and websites, and something else in the box!

Wait… I get it…

You guys are hoping that if you ignore reality, and attempt to deflect any honest critique of your shiny toys, including false or incomplete advertising, and make excuses for and defend any and every deficit, you will win brownie points and get free stuff from the Heli manufacturer and/or distributors…

Way to go!

Hey, this just in, Quick Japan has updated thier simulator models for use in FSM, Realflight and Reflex, now, when you load your QofJ models, you can hit control right click for an options dialougue box that will change the color of your shrinkwrap with the newly designed Martha Stewart Color wheel. This is a very cool function because on those days that Im wearing my red boots, I feel really insecure that the woodies arent color coordinated. And if that wasnt enough, they added an OXIDIZATION control panel with a slider switch which lets you adjust how much oxidization will occur over the next few years. Or you could be just like me and slide it all the way over to "corroded"

I hear that in "Corroded" mode the heli becomes more aerobatic.
And correct me if Im wrong, but I think that the white shrinkwrap tracks better than all the colors in the spectrum.

MAN IM SO EXCITED! cant wait til my real EP8s become more aerobatic!

Have you checked the manufacturer’s specifications? Quick Japan has an internet site you know; there you can find accurate info on their products (it is Japanese thus you need to use online translation). I can see the problem with USA distributor having an impromptu website, with misleading and outdated info, but it is not the only place to get info on Quick Japan products. When I compare two versions of the same heli, I can see the $100 difference in price comes from the process (anodizing) to make it blue, not that the blue anodizing is more expensive than silver anodizing. To put an end to the possible oxidization problem, never heard of any Quick Japan heli having problems with oxidization, take in mind that rc-helis are not intended to last for a life, if you fly it you certainly will crash it sooner or later, way before oxidization renders your heli unstable and dangerous to fly.
Quick Japan is a small manufacturer devoted to performance products, not mainstream. No one ever complained about the performance of their products. It is the same in every product category, if you choose to go for a special high performance product you surely know why you take this way, you did your research and took in account every aspect of the product. Complaining for the manufacturer whose product is made to fly and never flown it, well that does not sounds right. You did worst, posting your complains in many different fora and treads all over the net. You are attacking the manufacturer when your problem is the seller; it is the same like killing Iraqi people, likely not all Americans are thinking like you. If you have energy to spare with your words, please do it in a constructive manner.

You are always welcome to join our company of satisfied Quick Japan fliers. I will be glad to help and provide any info needed.

Hey guys, maybe we should take it easy on Karl, actually, I like having him hang around here, he adds a kind of side-kick comical entertainment value to this forum. I guess he kind of reminds me of a mix between C3-PO and Jar Jar Binks...maybe not Jar Jar probably more like Wally George. You know not really contributing anything helpful, blurting out useless information, nagging and getting in the way, always having the last word by closing the threads he starts...err wait, thats Karl, not C3PO or Wally George or JAR JAR...anyway..., but for some reason this questionable existence brings a soothing charm to my own insecurities. It makes me realize that Im not really as illogical and unreasonable as I thought I was. And when I wake up in the middle of the night from a bad dream screaming..."OXIDIZATION!!!" It calms me to know that my QJ8 is still looking pretty damn good for something that is 8 months old and has crashed 3 times and still flies this fantastic, unfortunately for him, he`ll never know because he pushed the abort button before the flight began. Karl, Please tell me that you will not become the living incarnation of Bill (Michael Douglas) in the film Falling Down and go ballistic when the hamburger you ordered doesnt look like the picture. I really would feel bad...
Oh...Sorry...So like I said before, lets take it easy on Karl, hes kind of like a pet here, in fact I think it would be good if we gave him a pet name...hmm...something like..."Shrink"

Shrink...I dont care what everyone here says about you...Youre alright!

Children,

I can see that any attempt to appeal to your maturity is pointless, so I will leave you to your tantrums and impulsive outbursts.

The heli is NOT anodized – the advertisements do NOT make this clear.

The clear shrink-wrapped wood blades look like something Elmer Fudd dreamed up.

I have never seen an uglier canopy anywhere and find it amazing that any company would replace one questionable looking canopy with an even worse looking one.

I will not contribute a single penny to ANY heli company that can NOT be COMPLETE, CLEAR, and DETAILED in their advertisements.

Period.

Let the crying resume!

Karl, you old man… acting like a child. I tried my best to have a mature discussion with you and found you are incapable to communicate.
A quick research in your profile shows that your point is to upset people. That is what you always did with your posts in this and other fora. I see you have a 3DPRO and a ZOOM 3D-X 400 I know you can’t fly them because they are tricky little birds and they need twice or more of their initial cost in upgrades to make them fly good and anyway I doubt you are capable of heli flying other than indoor hover. I can also imagine that you will never advance to a real rc-heli pilot by looking at things that way. Don’t shoot the heli for your lack of skill to fly it.
I can see and hear everyone, I just feel sad when people use their heads just to wear hats and glasses.

I ignored your offers because of the absurd comment you made about Americans killing Iraqis - and will continue to ignore you because you are an idiot to introduce any such notion into a heli forum.

Does this sound stupid????
If you read all the advertisements and no where does it say "Anodised" then you would have to believe that it is NOT.
The only place I have seen Anodised mentioned was on the Blue frames.

Not rocket science eh

Oh hey Karl, can I call you Shrink?

You know ive been thinking, maybe you are right about alot of things, and I think some of your insightfulness is rubbing off on me. For example, this week I decided not to read two books recommended to me by my colleagues because I felt disgusted by the cover art, in fact, one of them was hard-bound and I screamed out loud EEEEEWWWW! GROSS!!
just look at that yellow papyrus cover!! You know this book has to be stupid... Wouldnt be caught dead reading that. Oh, and I almost forgot... This morning, I was flying my QJ8 and I started feeling really insecure that everyone was gaulking at my butt ugly blades and canopy.

So Ive been doing some thinking, Maybe you are over qualified to be limiting your design sense and talents to this boring hobby and forum, you might really want to try nail art. or Cosmetics. But if you really have your heart set on RC Helicopters I think you would be best suited to start your own website. You could call it something like...www.helifashion.com or www.all_show_no_go.com Yeah thats it, and you can have heli canopy awards and you can even have a police squad. Yeah that would be cool, they could go around to fields (maybe you could recruit Michael Moore) and you would give out Heli fashion citations

Heli Fashion Police: "Exscuse me sir could you step away from the heli?"
Violator: "Im sorry officer, did I do something wrong?"
HFP:You are in violation of HF Penal code K58 section 2, failure to use a socialably approved canopy, Im going to have to issue
you a citation." Youre blades are also non-compliant with the shrinkwrap code K58 section 1. but Im going to let you off with just a warning!"
Vilator:"Thank you officer!"

You can even include articles on the website like Ugly Blades and Canopies and the Evil Men That Make Them
If it really takes off you might be able to get booked on OPRAH, and you can do "Ugly Heli Makeovers" "Oprah! please help! Im afraid to go
to the field because everyone is laughing at me!"

I think youd be really good at this. Maybe its your calling...
