I figured out why my 450 crashed this past Saturday. Since I have my ESC wires hanging below my motor, and since I have the Z-Power out runner motor, when I flipped it inverted, the wires from the ESC rubbed against the motor causing the motor to cut into the wires shorting out the power. Lessoned learned the hard way.

Guys, ARCA needs our help at the next meeting. Unfortunately a jet person is threatening to take actions to try to close the club down because he does not like the burn band rules. Here is the thread on RC Universe that he has been complaining on.

Well there is the link of the fields in Round Rock and close by, that way you could get the directions to.

I want to join

I posted on this thread about a year ago but only recently got me a model to fly outdoors. My trex 450 is the coolest thing I've ever owned, except my long gone '70 Buick. Went out to ARCA March 8 and got her test hovered for me. Don, that dude was cool. All the other heli pilots were in SA for a fun fly apparently. Since then been practicing at the school up the street. Hovering well, even in moderate wind, and working on side in. Help me learn to fly in person!

Now to make it fly like it does in my dreams!

Well, my helicopters and tools are still stuck in customs...Not sure when I will get them.

I did however order my radio today and some other stuff I need.

Hopefully I will see you guys around Austin soon.

Too bad the ARCA field is so far away. It takes me 40 minutes to drive there from Round Rock. Any closer field that is as good as the ARCA to Round Rock?

Thanks

Henrik,
It was great to meet you this past weekend. I also live in Round Rock, and ARCA is pretty much the best option for Heli flyers. There is a club in Pflugerville that has a couple of heli guys, but it is electric only.

Joe,

Thanks. It was nice too meet you guys. We don't where we will live 3 months from now. I guess I just need to adjust to the distances in the US

Anyway, I got the Futaba 12Z 2.4GHz radio...should be here this week. It seems like you guys prefer the 2.4GHz system, so I could'nt resist.

Now I just need to get the package with my helicopters...they still don't want to release it to me...

Setup Help

I am looking for some setup help on my scale lama after rebuilding it from a crash last fall. Will there be anyone at ARCA this coming Saturday morning the 26th? I'm trying to get it ready for Mayfest in Sulphur in May... Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill,

This week-end ARCA will be having its annual war bird event, since I do not remember seeing any machine guns on your Lama, I do not think that you will be welcome!
Sorry to hear about your crash on your nice scale machine. What kind of setup problem do you have? I will try to go to the field Sunday afternoon (not too early tough), so if I can be of any help.

Bill, I will probably be out at ARCA on Sunday trying to get my Engine broken in for Mayday as well. I don't know how much help I can be, but I can assist as much as possible. Sorry about the crash man.
