Kevin,
I had a good time flying with you guys at the fun-fly. Glad to see you back in the air burning fuel man. Thanks for the compliments on my flying, but I have a long way to go. We can learn from each other as we progress. Anytime you want to hook up let me know. I don't know if I can make Fall fest but I will definitely make May Day next summer.

Kenny, I am far from a Stud. More like Stud Muffin. Guaging on how you ripped the sky up last weekend, I think you are the King Stud..

I do think we need to try and get together more than once a year.

ARCA is hosting another Pylon airplane race this Saturday. Is anyone planning on coming out after the race (in the afternoon)?

Jeff,
my final flag football game of the season is this Saturday. If I can get everything wrapped up in time I can meet you over there.
I will let you know for sure when I find out the exact time of the game.

I will likely be out doing some heli-flying at ARCA Saturday. Hopefully they get the races over with at a reasonable time. It was great getting to fly with you guys at the fun fly, its been a long time... I wish my Raptor wouldnt have broken because its the heli I am least scared to beat up, but I am happy that it didnt hit too hard. Some of you guys (Vince,Kenny, and others) Really are progressing into some fantastic flyers, and should be proud of your "Stud" status...I'm gonna have to start logging some more heli/sim time and try to catch up, and yall dont make me look so bad next year!! Les,
I know there are at least a couple of flying clubs in the SA area. I also had heard of a heli only field. But I don't know any details.

Great news...at least for me

Finally we have somewhat of a set date when we arrive in Austin. It won't be until mid-April 2008 since there has been some complications with my Visa that I need, but things have now been worked out.

I am excited and I am now packing up my helicopters to have them shipped over...the season is over here and I sold my radio this week...so I can't fly anyway. We need to have everything wrapped up by mid-December, because that is when we have to leave the house. Then we're going on a 3 month long trip to Australia and New Zeeland and South East Asia until April 2008.

Anyway, I'll see you guys in Austin next year.

Inverted

Hello,
I needed somewhere to brag. I did my first three rolls with my TRex450 tonight. I also did some super fast figure 8 patterns. My nerves are still shaking after that.

Cool! The shakes don't go away but they do get easier. I still shake like a leaf at times.

Keep it up Joe!

Hello again,

We now have a date set. April 10th we'll fly from Sweden to Austin. We are going to borrow a house in Round Rock the first few weeks while looking for an apartment.

So, hopefully I can meet some of you guys April 2008. See you then.

Just don't know which club to join in Austin....

Henrik,
Welcome to Austin.

Do you have any idea about where in the Austin area you will end up? Round Rock is a good place (that is where I live) but there are a number of good areas.

As for which club to join, if you are mostly interested in heli's, then join ARCA. They seem to be the most heli friendly at the moment. I understand that the HCAM club is going through some changes that should make them more friendly to heli's. So that may be the case by the time you get here. They will be more convenient for you if you end up on the very south part of town.

There is also the Georgetown club. They are pretty friendly, but many of the heli guys do not like flying there for various reasons. If you fly there, you will one of only a couple of heli guys that fly there.

Finally, there is the Round Rock club. They are very nice guys, but it is a very small club and they like it that way. The field is also very small and somewhat closed in by trees. It is also located within a very large city park. There is the occasional renegade flyer that will fly in the park but not at the field. I would stick to SS if you fly there.

I hope that helps,
Joe

HCAM is starting to get a pretty good heli community. Last I counted, they have 8 heli pilots. Two more guys just bought Rap. 50's in the last couple weeks.

Hi,

We have no idea where we will end up. I currently work as a software developer so I will be looking for a similar job in the Austin area. So, probably where I get a job will determine where we will end up. Right now we are going to borrow a house in Round Rock for a few weeks in April.

We've never been to Austin, but we have heard so many nice things from many people about Austin. They can't all be wrong.

By the way, I fly mainly F3C.

Thanks.
