| Dallas Heli shops - visitedGuys,
Last Sunday the 12th, we visited a couple nice hobby shops up north side of Dallas, that I would suggest the visit if in the area. They are a couple And they are a couple miles apart, north of off I-35E.
Aero Hobbies, a couple miles north of Mike's, about a mile off I-35E on Hwy 121 in Lewisville.. http://www.aerohobbies.com
Aero IS a RC HELI shop, but has some planes and stuff too. But they have several aisles of helicopter parts, some brands almost their own aisle. They I think every RC Heli mag and have a couple old birds hanging in the back. Web-site is out-dated. They are in a shopping center, about a mile off 35.
Mike's Hobby Shop, on the I-35E access road in Carrolton... http://www.mikeshobbyshop.com
Though I found little nitro heli stuff and a selection of electric heli stuff, BOY ITS A REALLY HUGE STORE! They have lots of planes, lots of radio gear and lots of RC cars. The store was maybe 50-60ft wide and 80-90feet long.
They are in a business warehouse, right on I-35E access road. They with a large indoor dirt car track, plus a large carpeted car track, and an indoor electric Heli hover around about 40x40ft. They have lots of 'work tables' available to bring in your stuff to work on, and the Nitro heli guys fly out back in a grass lot. They even have a snack bar!!
How big is the store, here are two photos...

We found Norm's Hobbies, vacant store front. Told they moved but did not have much if any heli stuff. And being a model railroader, went to Discount Model Trains in Plano (very large model train shop). This after two part days at Six Flags Arlington - great place.
So, summary from my findings, when in Dallas, make it a point to visit Mike's and Aero. Both are open on Saturday till 6pm and Sunday mid-day. If someone knows of others 'worth the visit' please chime in!
