When using the AstroFlight 020 803HV Motor with 3-cell 4000mAh LiPo battery on the Voyager E, what is the best pinion gear to use?

Thanks.

I'm surprised no one responded. Or has this been asked before?? Please help if you know what's the best pinion to use on the Astro 020 motor.

Thanks.

Thats going to depend on the headspeed you want/need.

If basic hovering and FF is the goal an 11 tooth will get you approx 1550 rpm unloaded and probably closer to to 1500 real world. A 13 tooth should put you in the 1800 range without load and 1700 or so loaded. If you haven't made any changes to the head, I would suggest limiting the headspeed to no more than 1700 under load and as always with the stock VE head no LESS than 1400 at any time.

Just be careful with the Astro motor...they aren't high torque so you can easily overload them and they can get hot with resultant problems....just keep an eye on the temps and you should be OK.
