| in the process of switchingI was always a thumber and had good control. I decided to try to switch to thumb finger over the long winter. I've been doing indoor plane, simulator, and a small amount of outdoor heli flying. My opinion so far is I could do things (make corrections) more quickly with thumbs only. I can do things more precisely with thumb fingers. When Summer is over I'll have a final opinion. I'm hoping that the thumb/finger method will help in my coordinated 3D manuevers. By coordinated, I mean I need to hold a specific amount of rudder while transitioning the collective from pos to neg. During a pirouetting flip or loop, it was hard for me to hold a consistent amount of rudder through the manuever with thumbs only. I am hoping that the pinch method will clean these tricks up for me. I do know that there are very good people that use thumbs only. I'm just trying both methods for myself.
