Jeeze, then either I haven't seen many other larger scale helis climbing like a rocket, or you're all looking at different videos, because that 600 looks absolutely ballistic to me!

Oh well......Regardless, I guess the point is that I think it's cool....I'm not buying it for anyone else after all.

Nada problemo. As I stated, I have yet to see one in person. I imagine the video doesn't convey very well the power it may have on a 6S battery. I just can't personally believe it could have that much power on such a small battery.

I'll have to wait to see it in person. And not to toot my own horn, but I've beat just about every heli out there in the drags with my little Extreme, err.. former Extreme. Granted most of that comes down to reaction times

And its "Shawn"

Oh and please point me to a video that shows the "crazy" power this thing has. I'm not knockin the heli, I just want to see it. Fortunately a buddy of mine is getting one so some day I will get to see it in person.

Rumor has it that Align has 4000 of them pre-sold. You may have to wait awhile.

Still dont believe, either Align has come up with the most efficent motor ever made, or its "fake".

My E-Raptor weighs 280-380 grams (I used a 6s2p pack in it for comparison, 100 grams +- depends on setup on the T-Rex) more then the T-rex 600, and my E-Raptor needs 10s to run good.

My Logo 10 3D runs OK on 6s2p, not as good as raptor on 10s, and its AUW (with battery) is 2350 grams which is 650-750 grams LESS then the T-Rex AND the logo running 500mm blades compared to T-Rex 600mm.
And my batteries are WARM after a hard push on the logo

Simply, the weight + blade length on 6s for the T-Rex speaks against it.

Well, maybe they HAVE made the best motor around, or a ESC that is saving the packs for you..

Time will tell, or to be correct, the masses will be knowing it in a instant.
I just hope that it will not result in Align helis falling out of the sky burning up, but normally if its too good to be true, its never is...

Hi,
I can also comment on this. With the 6s2p packs I am flying now, the 600 will toast any 50 size! I am positive it could any 90 too! We are talking being able to hold a 2200 (even more I have been told!!)RPM, with around +11,-11 pitch! My Dad, who usually doesn't say too much about the helis, even came up behind me today and said "WOW! Its quick!!" At 6.6 pounds, you are equal to a Raptor 50 "titan" which is the lightest 50 I know of.
The other thing I first noticed was the head ratios, they must be the same as the Trex, as they fly really alike
Have fun!

600 suppose to be more stable than Trex450.

Well. 6lbs is average. Where talking about 6 to 8.5lbs here. worst case scenario it will go to 9lbs 50 Size Heli. with everything inlcuded.

Climb rate are still fast though.

Flight time is fast also. hehe... But who cares.. its electric.. Give it some time... batery will improve.

average servo weight will be

50 to 55 grams.

Hey.... wait a couple of months and 3999 of them will be on the second hand market when these guys realise just how impractical a 50 class e-heli currently is!

Bigger is better X 2

So given that logic -- should I return the ION-X I just ordered :-) IMO bigger is always better if you can afford to play the game.

So given that logic - Should I use my BIGGER 30 cell NiMh pack, or my smaller Lipo? Sometimes bigger isn't better, and with that being said

if you have the room to fly a T600 then by all means go ahead... some people don't want to drive miles to an large field, when they can fly there 400 sized heli's in there yard and do 3D.

??? if you can afford to play the game?? Not sure there was any mention of money, here, but Yeah I am sure I could afford to play the game if I wanted to.

Of course they have room. In their yard, driveway, street and neighbourhood park. That's where you'll see most of the Rex600's flying.

... But honey it was only $$$

Gosh, I hope thats a joke. Its a 50 sized heli, please fly it somewhere safe. Being electric is not safer, just more quiet. I dont see people flying Raptor 50s in their driveways, streets, or neighborhood parks too often..

Hmm, I don't see many Swifts/eRaptors/Logo 14s etc flying around my neighbourhood park, driveways, yards so why would I see T-Rex 600s flying there? Is there some law stopping stupid people from buying those other large e-helis but not the T-Rex 600

Thats all depends. My nextdoor neighbor have raptor50. and E-MA IONX.

He dont fly the Raptor being so dammm loud and high maintenance. But he flies hes MA ION X in front of hes garage or front lawn.

I mean... duh common sense if you think your front lawn or garage are too small... then dont fly 50 size heli.

But if its big enough and No kids playing around to check wtf your doing... then all good. I mean dont get me wrong when I first saw him flying that ION x Im concerned for safety hazard. I mean I can feel the blade ripping the AIR off. you can feel the ground shaking etc....

But ofcourse... use good judgement and safety always. Just dont be so exagerated about laws.

People in Japan and Taiwan. those countries Fly their E heli 50 size on their front yard.... Even in early pic of trex600 its in front of the restaurant.

ALL depends... Just dont exagerate on rules.

...

BUT all this is just my own thinking.. keep on walking and just ignore this... im just a homeless guy talking nonsense.

Why are you guys comparing the T-Rex 450 to 600? The 600 was never meant to replace 450. It's like owning a motorcycle and a car. They ARE different.

50 size impractical? Ferrari are not practical cars and were never meant to replace Hondas. Like somebody mentioned, 450 are great for lunchtime quick flights at nearby parking lot or local park. But when it comes to stability and performance, nothing beats size. When you get to larger sizes for better performance, higher prices are unavoidable. You don't buy larger helis because you want to save a few bucks. You buy them for the PERFORMANCE.

Not sure there is much of a performance difference between a 450 and 600, they both can do the same 3D moves.

Maybe climb outs would be fast on a 600, but that is all I can think of, If speed is important get a pylon racer.

600 will be more stable, some people find the little 400 sized choppers twitchy, I like twitchy, but others don't and have sold there 450 Rexes in order to get a larger more stable chopper.

But 3D move for 3D move they will both do the same thing. I would not consider the larger one the Porsche of the Chopper world and the smaller T-rex 450 as the Honda.

They can both do Extreme 3D with the right mods and the right pilots.

Some Say ... with a Larger chopper you gain size to see it easier and stablitiy in hover.

And you can read that as ...

My eyes suck and I need a larger chopper.

My reactions are not fast enough to correct a smaller more nimble chopper, I need a chopper that reacts slower.

you can interpret that either way.

anyway.. nothing aginst the T600, it will be decent. But will it sell like the 450 did? Who knows..

If you have the room for a T600, I say get one!

No joke. Got one fellow at least once a week spooling up his Raptor 60 in the middle of the street with some floating around thrown in. Cars parked on the side and everything. Normal neighbourhood. Go figure.

Why? Most of us know what a 50-sized heli is and what it is capable of. This doesn't ring true with an individual flyer who is new to the hobby and only owns a Trex 450. Like I've said already, I personally know many adults whom are new to the hobby and pre-purchased the Rex600 with the belief that it is just like their little 450 with the only difference of it being slightly larger. And yes, they will fly it in their backyards and in the small schoolyards.

Quote

We aren't. Others, who do not know much about heli's, nor forums for that matter ARE comparing the 450 to the 600.

Who do you think Align's target market is ?

Trex450 owners.

I will be buying a V2 when it comes out and will most likely encourage my friends to do the same, once they see and realize what the Rex600 actually is. Not a little micro, but a full-fledged large heli.

One this is for certain, this is going to be one SWEET@SS heli.

I don't get how people can fly a T-Rex 600 in the middle of a street. I'm nervous enough of something happening with my 450XL (a glitch, a thrown blade, etc). I can't imagine what would happen if a 600 sized bird glitched and flew into someone or someone's car/house, or how much damage a thrown blade would cause.
