e-Align T-REX 450-500-600 > Whos gettin the 600?

how bout this.. if u want a 600, great get one. If you dont, great.. dont get one. Period. There's no reason to trash a heli because u dont want one. Most people trashed micro heli's when they came out and now look at them. I think the 600 will be great and i will get one. If you disagree.. thats ur opinion and ur entitled to it, but u dont have to go around talkin about how you think the heli is crap and this and that. For those sayin the heli isnt designed to take a crash well.. u havent even crashed one yet and ontop of that, stop thinking about crashing so much and maybe you wont have to worry about spares and all this.

It's part jealousy... the "I want one, but I can't afford one" syndrome .

Ok since they mentioned the battery is not being protected. We can all make a custom made protection for that right? I know theres a lot of Mcgyver out here that can invent a battery protection for his heli.

Me... personally I already have an idea on how I will protect that $300 lipo.

But ofcourse.. it will be an experiment. and Im not sure %100 if that will really work. but... its all about trial and error.

Magicmilk is right. if you think that you will crash all the time... then lol... find a new hobby.

Well, if you think "crash" is a non-sayable word for heli, then why not get a 90 sized heli (either electric & nitro will be fine) which is much more enjoyable than a smaller size heli in many sense.

The reason forbiding people going for a larger heli is the "crash cost" (running cost as well). I have seen many people got a 90 size heli and not long after sold it since the cost is higher than what they expect.

If you look at other forum discussing the pros and cons of getting a 90 size heli, you definitely will see many people mention the "crash cost". There have been numerous discussion like this before, so I don't think this thread is any different.

In my opinion, not mentioning the running cost and crash cost is an irresponsible attitude, crashing my Raptor50 is a lot of different from crashing my Fury Extreme, also crashing a mircroheli is very different from crashing a 50 size eheli, you don't have to actually crash one to know, there have been many people crashing their heli before and share their experience with you. It is always good to know all the issues before you actually get one, isn't it?

I may get a 50 size eheli, haven't decided due to a very fundamental reason of getting a TRex45, that is I don't have to drive out very far to a big field to fly, I can just fly it in front my house. But for a 50 size eHeli, I can't do that, I have go to the field that we fly nitro, then I don't really see the point of flying a 50 size eHeli than trashing my 90 size nitro since the fun of flying such large heli is very good, better than a smaller heli regardless what the power source is. And yes, I have flown a Logo14 several times, my friend got one and let me trash it several times, but we both stop flying his Logo14 for quite a while, instead we still fly 90 Nitro quite a lot. Maybe we should get an Ion to try, but you know the complaint well already - the battery cost.

I don't want to be a basher on the eheli, in fact, I myself have had many micro-eheli and still running two, I think it is fun to play,it gave me different feeling than a larger nitro, but it is always good to know what the issue might be getting any new heli.

For me, the draw for larger e-heli is the same as the draw for larger planks. I have a Fliton 330 Extra Freestyle (60 size aerobats) that is e-powered. All I have to do is pack that thing in my car, go to the field, finish my set of batteries (I can get a "4th" one if I charge), then go home. No cleaning up, no mess, no setup / tuning either. For me, the time is a premium since I'm married with 2 young children. If you're the type that goes on weekends and stay all day, then by all means, go for glow. But if you can only squeeze in 30-60 min at a time to fly, then e-heli is the ticket for you.

Just a thought.

Because it isn't cheap, I really have a hard time imagining some ignorant schmuck picking up a 600 from their LHS and expecting it to fly like their 450. If anyone has the $1500-$2000 to spend on a complete 600 setup with a couple of batteries, I would like to assume that they know what they're doing, and have made an informed decision.

Well, I know quite a few personally who have the money and bought it because of the 450. $1,500 isn't much off from a loaded 450SE either.

Regardless, I'm getting a V2.

On 10S I think it may carry a Hobbit or maybe Willy's sheep.

... But honey it was only $$$

i've heard from a friend of mine who owns a hobby shop that the 600 release date for sale is the 15th. I havent been able to visit the store for about a week due to work so does anyone know if the date is still valid or if its been pushed back or what?

Or is this too little ?
If so i can get 3300 mah 3 s and solder them together

Why focus on upgrading lipos? MA IONx uses Emoli batteries for testing... and as far as I heard it flies great... But ofcourse... its still experimental.

How about solar powered sells huh?
