I was told that i get mine next friday. I will not say what store told me this but it's IMO a reliable source. I test in my front yard. I fly behind a super market that has a 15 acre field out back. If you don't do a range check or put it together right. Then maybe you should go back to a humming bird and start over. I use common sense and if people are walking around or are inquizitive. I don't fly.

TREX ON!

Back to topic:

One neat feature I found in the T-Rex 600 kit:

It includes a complete BEC solution which includes the 5.8v BEC, a 2S 1100mah lipo, plus an inline connector that goes between gyro and servo to drop the voltage to 5.1v. GREAT THINKING!

The initial impression on the kit quality is superb. And just like its smaller brothers, Align again included a blade holder.

I'll start a build thread this weekend. Stay tuned.

Thanks steph280 for the update. I've about had it with all the "your an idiot for flying it here/there/not there" stuff too.

I'm still waiting for Jeremy@RCHOVER to call me with my final price & options on what I can get.

What battery did you get? I saw on aligns site they now have TWO 6s2p batteries:
Li-Polymer Battery 22.2V 4400mAh/18C $209
http://www.align.com.tw/shop/produc...roducts_id=1301

and the:

Li-Polymer Battery 22.2V 4200mAh/16C $229
http://www.align.com.tw/shop/produc...roducts_id=1236

18C and $20 less? Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

can you confirm what size 600mm blades you need for the TREX600?

I've seen lots of different root sizes 600x12x4, 600x14x4, 600x9x4

Sorry to hammer you with questions, but right now you are the only one here with the real deal in hand. Everyone else is just guessing!

I will start the build this weekend and post as much photo as I can. Right now everything is still in bags so I'll answer the questions as I build. Got a few more photos in my gallery.

I am not sure what the reasoning behind the difference in battery price. But I do know the 16C are same stuff as TP prolites. I have ordered some TP prolites locally for this bird. Initially I will try it with the recommended 6s2p (Gary is going to hate me) just to see how it performs.

If you want to try nice 6s batteries, try the Flightpower Evo's (20C), got them for my logo, and have to say WOW, 6s1p 3700's is the one I run. (I used TP PL 4200 before that which is good but not like the Evo's)

Yes, me too. It seems any thread that comes up about the 600 somebody chimes in saying people will be flying them in small areas and how dangerous it is. The funny thing is, I don't see them posting the same replies in every Swift/eRaptor/Logo 14 thread.

Back on topic. Looking forward to the build review, I've been leaning towards the TT 620SE but the T-Rex 600 isn't out of the running yet....

If were me I'd join the Academy of Model Aviation and support the cause Nation Wide! The PolyQuest use the same cells as the Evos and Hyperions at a much cheaper price! Also IMO: Being an AMA member shows respect to all the other fliers in America, shows the rest of us your not that pot bellied, beer swilling, thumb dumb, needing a shave hick, bootleg flying anywere you thing you can! FWIW

The AMA is way better than what you belong to!

I'd like to know this too, hopefully they're the same size as the eRaptor.

I can pretty much GUARANTEE that they are the same exact blades as the Raptor, Evo or any other popular 50 sized machile. They would be horribly shooting themselfs in the foot if they didnt. Wasnt Szabo flying V-Blades on his. V-Blades only makes 600mm blades in one root size. 12-4. Which is the same exact size as any Raptor.

TomRex:
Last time I checked PQ didnt do 6s1p packs, they only go up to 4s, fine if you want to combine two of those 3s, but if you want one big pack, Flightpower is needed.

I'm sure you're right, I was thinking the same thing too but just wanted to make sure. Time to order some V-Blades before the rush...

600mm V blades only have 1 root size right?

So I assume we need the 40mm size V paddle

I wonder how the 6S 7300's will work on the REX - I don't see them doing too much better in terms of cycles than the Align pack. Look forward to seeing how many cycles we can get for $200 to $240 per pack - some predict 10 - some 20. So $24 bucks a flight - sound good to anyone? -- $12 is a bit better.

I am sure with the price of replacment frames someone will make after market ones at a reasonable price. Frames $220 Ausi dollars

I saw this heli when i was in singapore, it wasnt flying just sitting on a shelf in the shop. I walked out with my Lepton instead though. Reason - didnt want one as big as the 600, and it wouldnt fit in my luggage

At $159 for just the frame you can be sure there will be the usual frame grinders making a nice frame for probably less than the stock cost.

I'm leaning toward Charley's frames. Would be nice to see an aftermarket one that has a wider footprint and will protect and adapt to more motor/battery configs.

Motor mount from up top in front of out back would be a definite advantage.

... But honey it was only $$$
