Anyone have any info or are using the new bergen gasser muffler. I talked to Larry and he said it was backordered. Just wondered if it was worth waiting for or do I find a MA rear muffler and go on. Thanks

Bergen Muffler

I am using a Bergen gas muffler on one of my camera ships and like it very well, pretty quiet, good power. I think they are making the wall thicker to elimate cracking inside at a weld( from expansion and contraction)...... I would recommend one, when they get em' finished

I'm flying the latest release. It works great, makes my gasser sound like a big glow heli. The baffle is now welded in so no more coming loose. I'm not sure on how long the back order is on them, you'd have to ask Larry that one.

What's the lowdown on Bergen? I ordered a gas muffler online about a week ago last sunday and haven't heard a word since. No charges to my credit card (which makes sense it the mufflers are backordered), I sent one email through a link on their website which came back as "undeliverable - invalid recipient", I sent another to the other link on the website but haven't had a response yet.

I have no problem with the muffler being backordered - just let me know so I won't give up and go elsewhere.

Gas Mufflers

Hey guys, (and gal )

The mufflers are on backorder as you have heard. I know Mal has been running the hell out of hers and sems to be holding up very well.

I'll be in Mulberry this weekend and hope to run at least another gallon through the machine. If the muffler is still going strong, we should start on full production within the next week or two.

I know how difficult it is to wait for something you need desperately, but we've been bitten by this before, and want to make sure the mufflers will hold up through many flying seasons.

The cbergen@bellsouth.net e-mail is a dead link. My new one is chris.bergen@delta.com.

Chris, what do those of us who have the original design muffler do? Fly 'till it breaks?

Isn't that what you do with rotor blades?

Kidding

If yours hasn't had a problem by now, it won't. Of course if something does happen to it (outside of a crash) We will take care of it. That is our standing policy.

Nothing lasts forever, but if you get your moneys worth of use out if it, is that a problem?

Chris,
I will be glad to get mine back, so I can see how this Stock G23 puh with the WT603 carb does with that muffler...You talked like you were going to Sulphur, so I took it along just in case you wanted to race that 25 cc brute hehee
Regards,
Bill

Al, In that case, When we get the new ones I will trade you out. I'd rather you have a fresh one that we know is good. I thought you had already run with that muffler. Not all of the original batch were thin.

Bill, sorry about Sulphur. Had a few (more than one) things come up at the last minute and couldn't make it. I will be in Mulberry with Rusty,(trying to convert him to Gas)!!

I did try it with the g-23 , and it did provide good power...Better in the mid range...BUT, this was with the Walbro 167...I have since put the Wt603, that comes on the RC230 on the PUH g23....It has made the old PUH into a new engine...I can't wait to get that new muffler back to try it with this combo
Keep working on Rusty! I got a lot of folks in Sulphur wanting gassers now...
I guess I'll see you at Bham

Bill

Uh, good question. It seems to sound a lot like a raspy 90 glow machine or something. It's pretty hard to describe. It isn't as quiet as the MA pipe but produces better power and sounds more like a glow than a gas machine. If I had a spot to upload video to I could show you a clip so you could hear it.

I was hoping it would be sooner. I hate this canister muffler. Malorie how is your muffler working out?

Zero degrees and snowing here so I can't here my heli run. I suppose it might be because I'm inside.

So far it is still working good. I beat on it when I can.
