anyone know a magic trick for removing a grub screw whose sides are worn so much the hex cant grip it? I have spent two hours so far without budging it.

I have successfully used a flat end screwdriver that is slightly bigger than the allen key width and smacked it into the grub screw, heated the grub screw up with a heat gun or soldering iron and gently unscrewed it.

If the grub screw is protruding a little you could always use a dremel to cut a slot across the top of the grub screw and then use a screw driver to get it out.

An imperial size key in a metric sized screw can sometimes do the trick.

Hi,

I never tried this but someone told me the a torx driver could work too. But I know for sure that the trick with the drill bit will work. I had to do it more than once

Got it odd eventually, had to dremel thru the shaft and replace the clutch and fit a new head and grub screw!
