| Well I can honestly say I ran the aluminum insulator, and I can honestly say that I LIKE IT!
Let me start by saying that I was very happy with the way my engine was running previously, vibes were well within the norm, plenty of power, no difficulties.
I had happened to crash two weekends ago, and during the repair I installed the aluminum insulator.
Initial test flights after the repair showed a smoother running engine, as well as a slightly richer needle settings. That alone tells me that the original block (which was a new one), had been leaking ever so slightly, necessitating a slightly richer needle setting to correct.
So when the aluminum block was installed and was NOT leaking at all, made the engine run slightly richer, necessitating the leaning slightly of the needles to get the engine back to the proper tune.
So far, I have not noticed a power gain per se, but I can say that the peace of mind of knowing that the insulator is sealed, and can give consistent needle settings due to this, will be invaluable in getting any gasser tuned properly, and in all probability, PREVENT the lean run that seems to destroy an engine in less than 1 tank of fuel.
Excellent Job.
