yeah but why is that guy standing soooo close, or is the picture deceptive, it almost looks like the one heli is right on top of the guy bending over

yea the picture is a little mistelling. hes in the middle of the pad, im sure theyre as far towards the end of the concrete as they could be. but still, i wouldnt want to stand between two 90's probably throwing 2k for racing lol.

way too close!!! If there was a glitch or lock out this guy could be in serious trouble. Why couldn't he have stood behind them and just counted down to zero and said go?

Because AGRAV8 can't count past three or count backwards. So Ron and I would just launch when he broke wind.

It all went bad on the third run when he strained as hard as he could to break wind but alas it was not gas.

The picture must be a bit misleading, but just to be safe he needs a Foo shield !

heheheh with all the OTHER places he could be standing at to start the race, I find it funny he thought betweem two 90's would be the safest.

that is the true meaning of an "RC-Dolt"

at IRCHA last summer ('05) they had the drag set up just like that, and one of the 50's blew up just before starting. It was really scary, the guy who was in the prone position between the two helis could have been seriously injured, but he was lucky and non of the parts hit him, however there were parts flung in all directions 75-100 feet.

flippin and dippin, flying tail to the ground, I fly my heli's like a rabid greyhound!!!

Don’t go saying helis are dangerous if our government in the UK find out it will be another statistic to add to the list in our Nanny state rules.

we have been discussing this on another thread. If anyone has any ideas on how to make drag racing safer for spectators and participants your input would be appreciated.

Do it like a real drag race and make a staging light. Wouldn't be more then $50.
Or I'm sure you could buy a commercial one for about $500-$1000.

Starter is behind pilots and uses a sports whistle or air horn to start.Way safer.....Eyes need to be on the spooled up choppers, not a light.
