Now that the Avant has their own head, does that mean you either buy Avant or Hirobo?

No. You still need a "donor" Hirobo heli to build your Avant from.

Of course, the list of pieces you can sell off gets longer if you're using the Avant head.

You still need to buy the Hirobo kit for donor parts, although it would be intersting to see how much the parts needed from the Feya onlywould cost, if you brought the CX head and Avant kit.

I dunno, if you get the prog head, it makes the Hirobo parts list a lot shorter (unless you get complete Evo head set) and a lot more cheaper? Prob cheaper than buying an Evo kit? Or not if you sell the head & left over bits from the kit?
