Hey, I have stumbled on your site here and it looks quite nice ! you have alot of great information here.

I have an MFA Sport 500 I have had for 10 years & I have had a break from my busy life here to bring it down & dust it off All is up to speed now after unfreezing the motor (Magnum Po SE 61"All works fine now except for the belt (motor to clutch) which was to loose & stripped out. Does any one have any resources for parts for this heli? http://images.ask.com/fr?q=mfa+spor...page%253D1&qt=0 I need a drive belt.I am a novice & am using Real flight G3..... love to get this up & running

I hate to be the one to tell you , but the MFA Sport 500 was a bit of a dog . It was designed for 40-45 sized engines , I don't know if the mechanics would stand a 61 . The early versions had a problen with throwing the tail blades off , there was a mod to fix it , but I don't remember now what it was . I owned a second hand one for a very short time , but wasn't impressed .
Do you have the fixed pitch or collective pitch version ?

I have the fixed version. No worries about the heli, if it was a bad design let me know. I really want to have a go at it, but if it does'nt work, I'll just move on, helis seem to be the fun stuff for me I think, alot of variations to flying. I started with gliders, then onto power planes... nothing compares to a heli. I have seem to be pretty good at realflight G3 for helis, fixed & collective... ready to make the next step. yes, a 61 is a big motor for the 500, but that is what I have in it...lol I will baby it & see if it will work, since I have had it for so long....I still need a belt for it

Well , as you've got it , you may as well use it . You should be able to learn to hover with it , if nothing else . I also had the fixed pitch version . With the fixed pitch you have to anticipate the power level that the heli is going to require . On a collective heli , as soon as you adjust the pitch , the heli responds . With the collective version there is a delay while you wait for the rotor head speed to increase or decrease to maintain or change yout height . You also have to be careful not to over compensate or you end up yo-yoing up and down . Obviously if the engine quits when you're more than a few feet off the ground , then you're in for a repair bill .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Hobby Lobby USA, Or Hobby Lobby International? in Brentwood TN. may be your only hope. I believe they were the original importers. I think their # is 615-377-1444. Good luck on this vintage bird. 10 Yrs. old, I don't think so. Maybe 20. I saw those in Hobby Lobby when I got started in the hobby.

Ok! It was my fault!
