Well it isn't really a 407 here but the point gets across!!! Still need to get the N numbers done and I have the camera to finish painting and she should be complete after I get that installed and a scale muffler from Century. This is the 30 size Long Ranger with Hawk SE mechanics. Hope you enjoy! Lets see what should I start next week, the Vario 230 or my Carbon Fiber Huey project?

Now that's a show piece!!

Great work of art you've built there. How much time do you have wrapped up in it so far?

Time..Hmmm

Do I count that in the number of beers? I know my WSU Cougars have one four straight in that time and the UW Huskies have lost lets see 4 or 4 straight so I guess about a month (more like about 40 hours or so).

Thanks for your comments! It is nice to share our successes with other modelers, the little one loves them but the wife just wants to kick my a$% out of the house!!! Better get that wood stove into the shop ASAP!

Paul come on down, look at my back yard!!!

Nice heli, I like KOMOs new paint scheme, see it fly over my house about 3 times a week. The 407 makes a unique sound.
Hey, that IS Tenino, flat in the middle and bumpy all around. Spent many a Saturday night there racing stock cars.

Eric,

I've stumbled back to my house from that race tracka few times, especially when the NW Tour cars are in town!!! I live about 1/2 mile down the road from the race track.

Great job...

Chris,
Fantastic job on that one. Really nice. Hope to see it at some of the fun flys next summer. Are those a set of Mike's gear? (Jestrr) If not you did a fantastic job on them.

Boy I think we should have a fun fly in your back yard.

Chris,
Up until last year I was on the NWT Lumbermens #6 crew, before that we were just #6, Wes Rhodes ring a bell? I was on Wes's crew for 12 years. Wes's 17 year ols son Danny won the street stock champ this year asa rookie, the acorn doesn't fall far.
I had no Idea there was a scale heli guy in Tenino, much less Thurston county. I would love to see your birds up close.
I fly brushless electrics, and have a few semi scale birds. One being a 206 on an Ikarus Eco8. I love electric, but scale is next to impossible with them.

Jason,

Thanks for the comments, I actually made the gear myself, took a bit of work but they sure add the touch to the finished bird!

Eric,

I just moved down here from Olympia last spring. This was the first year I have been at the races but grew up in Grays Harbor where the Stedmans and Earl Whiting are from (Both raced NW Tour until a couple years back and Earl ran Top Fuel dragsters on the NHRA circuit). I'm sure you know both of them since you were in the sport!

You guys come on down any time you want, I have a acre or my own and 7,000+ over the fence!!!!

Great...

Chris,
The gear does add the finishing touch.
I am excited to see the "finished" product when you all all the rest of the little things like the camera pod and N numbers and such. Should be a real award winner next summer.

I want to do the King 5 bird next. I am doing an Airlift NW A109 up this winter as my first project. No retracts since I can't seem to find the room for them with the Hawk sport Mechs. , but the rest should be there.
I may just sell the A109 fuse and go with the Twinstar project. Won't be true scale since the King's is a A-star, but it will be close.

I would also like to see someone in the area do the King county police bird (Guardian 1).
They used to have a really sweet Longranger when I was taking flight lessons. They hangered it with the same heli company that I was training at. Too bad that budget cut's sent it back on the lease and now they are using recycled Jetrangers from the National guard. Still a very nice paint job and good scale model I think.
