| Last night I got my new Jeti ESC, soldered the deans on it and fired up the Corona. First battery...all was well. Great flight. Even started to get comfortable with side in hover and even made a pretty miraculous save after getting a bit disoriented.
Second battery didn't go so well. About 30' up in a side in hover, the motor just stopped dead and it dropped like a bloody brick. It hit the deck with a sickening thud. The crutch broke in half, the main shaft is toast along with the flybar and the tail boom. Aside from that...no worries. After taking the canopy off, I discovered that the ESC switch must have rubbed against the canopy and actually turned itself off in flight!!!
10 seconds before that, I was telling myself I should sell off a couple of my planes and really get into heli's more. 15 seconds later, I was ready to burn the freakin' thing! Man, this hobby can really try your patience sometimes.
New crutch and a bunch of other goodies are on the way from Chopper1, BT and Lite Machines. '-)
I ain't givin' up that easy...
