Well just finished the raptor 50 titan's canopy tonight. Working on all my throttle/pitch curves this week. I getting my gy401 w 9254 in on wednesday. Dont have my gv-1 in yet but should be okay w/o it for a test flight! I suck at painting so dont be to critical on my crappy spray job... Maybe it's ugly enough so the ground will repel it... I installed 9252's all around. Should be a good match on the throttle for the gv-1. I went with the Hyperraptor setup from HeliProz... Went together well except for one hex on the head was missing the hex on the end, it was just filled in,haha! Wasn't a big deal. I am one of those CP to TREX to Raptor kinda guys and dont know much about the heli engines. I was flying giant scale DA-50's. YS 1.10's but am not to sure on fuel with these heli's(for break-in, ironically I was using heli fuel on my YS...). What nitro content should i start with? At my shop we have 30 Curtis blend, regular 30 and then airplane coolpower stuff. Any suggestions?
Finally here are some pic's of the ugly ducking...

Thanks again for all the help!

Just use the fuel you use for your ys 1.10. Whatever works for the ys 1.10 will work VERY WELL in the hyper.

Yeah, if it's the 20/20 fuel it will be fine.

BTW, the paint job looks good IMO.

You're gonna love the R50. I went from an R50, flew a BCP(didn't like it) and now have a T-Rex. The R50 is so much easier to fly and easier to see.

Paint job looks nice, can't wait to see it fly. As you know, I use the CP 15% from your store and it works great. There is no difference between the airplane version and the heli version. After you get the hang of that new bird slap some 30% in there and let her rip. Let me know when you head out to fly it.

I was looking at your first picture. I'm building a Titan now myself. Check the position of your tail servo mount bracket. In the manual, look carefully at the diagram on page 17 compared with the one on page 18. The one on page 17 makes it look like the bracket is mounted on the right side of the frame (like you have in your picture). The one on page 18 appears to show the opposite. I'm pretty sure it goes on the left side. Otherwise I think the servo will protrude too far and the linkage won't work. I could be wrong as I haven't mounted the tail servo yet, but that's the way it looks to me.

You're exactly right. Mount the servo plate so the pushrod is shooting directly down the center line of the boom. It is opposite the picture in the manual, I believe.

Going broke and OK with it.

Looks pretty nice, sad to say that its not ugly enough for the ground to repel it , good luck.

I may be on crack but aren't the tail rotor blades on backward in the first photo?

I believe they are supposed to spin counter clockwise (as viewed in the photo) with the leading edge flying into the rotor downwash.

Your right, they are on backwards.

You guys caught me, thanks! I must of turned the belt the wrong direction. I guess that's what you get for building at 3am!(which I now see can have disasterous consequences...
Fixed the tail rotor.
Fixed the tail mount!
Thanks again

You will have to turn the TR blades around in the holders so they will be facing 180 degrees around.

Do the belt twist to get the TR blades rotating clockwise when viewed from left side of chopper.

No, when i rotated the main rotor, the tail turned clockwise, so i had to rotate the belt also. It wasn't a simple turn the blades around kinda thing, unfortuneatly... But didnt take to much time. Pretty easy actually. Well, I think im going to have her looked over up close by a friend and hope to have it maiden some time this week!
Thanks

Nothing wrong with your painting, just not my taste I had red once but it looked like black once in the air...
Remember to put on a good clearcoat or your paint work will be a mess in no time.
You are just starting, then 30% nitro is a waste of money. 15% will do good and if you really need the money for parts then 5% will even do good enough for hovering and flying.

Yahoo!

Well after bring my throttle curve down a bit(around 30-45%) in normal mode*(disabled the idle ups b/c they were still set high and im glad i did, seeing as it would of been a bat out of hell if i didnt!) I had a hover head speed at around 1700, which felt really smooth. This thing hovers better than a bladeCX, gobs better than my CP and a bit better than my Trex! Overall, I am very pleased with what a couple weeks has produced! Funny thing was that my street looked a bit cloudy afterward...*(still a bit rich, only my 3rd tank, 1st that i didnt just let it idle.) It idle's really well, a little bog on the power up but that will be temporary. Really love the ease of use with the 50sx hyper.
Thanks for all you guys who pointed out the dumb thumbs i produced in my late night building attempts. I get the 30 at cost so the prices of fuel are pretty cheap. 12 bucks versus 16. Four bucks, no biggy yet(i say that now b/c its my first gallon, after a few i might change my opinion, but after a gallon or two i plan on doing a bit more that hovering or flying around, that's what those other two heli's taught me, the T'rex being the one who taught me the loops and rolls etc etc, kinda thing.

HeliProz carries a metal elevator push pull set for 33.99 It's always an option/upgrade.
