Logo 14 is an awesome machine, but should only be run with Lipos for proper performance. Carbon frames, larger blades, higher cost to setup, but if you want to spend the money, great machine.

Logo 10 runs shorter blades (500 vs. 570) and runs pretty well on NiCad and NimH as well as Lipos. The motor/ESC cost may be a little less than the 14, but not a huge difference. Plus it goes pretty decent on 4S Lipo, whereas the 14 will require larger packs.

If I was going to take a step from the BCP, I'd go with the Logo 10 first and, once proficient with that, switch to the 14. Crashes are much cheaper with the Logo 10.

The Logo 14 has a driven tail which means that, during an autorotation, you still have full control of the tail because it continues to spin along with the main blades.

The Logo 10 has a non-driven tail so the tail blades stop spinning during an auto while the main blades continue to spin.

Both have full tail control while under power if that's what you're asking.

Some prefer a driven tail for aerobatic autos, whereas others prefer a non-driven tail to preserve blade energy for emergency autos.

Hope this helps

Logo 10 go for it!!

I've got the logo 10 and it was a blast to build! No problem everything fit perfect and now I am in the setup stage balancing the blades setting the pitch and curves..the helicopter should be ready to fly within the next couple of days..Can't wait...Note: I am using 12 cell elite 3600 NiMh batteries...For now that should give me about 8 - 9 minutes flight times which is plenty for me sport flying. I am at that age that it doesn't take much to wear me out. Good luck which ever logo you pick you will not be disappointed!! Live to fly and fly to live...

By that time, you might as well get a TRex 600. Word is, it's a superb heli and well priced as well. Over at RCG, they've finally outfitted one with 10S and Hacker A50-10S, which made it ballisitc. I'm waiting for Garry's video.

logo 10 or 14

I am trying to figure this out, from reading the logo forum here on RR to the logomania forum, when asked the question on the 10 or the 14, I would say 8 out of 10 replies would direct one to go with the 10 and not the 14? Why is that?? Sure there is a difference in the packs required to run each machine, same with the motor. Is there something else that I may have missed out on???Please clue me in.

Thanks,
Neal

Thanks Bone Doc,for the info. On the BCP forums thats
what everybody say "TRex". I am going with the Logo.
Westbeach, I decided on the L10 because of size and different
battery options. Also from input from logo owners.
Thanks- anybody else got any advice/suggestions on L10 ?

westbeach,
from what i've read most directions towards a L10 have been for either costs or learning stage. The L14 has a higher setup cost and can be more to repair but still has it over a 10, you'll find a lot of L10 owners admitting (or wanting) to upgrading to a L14 too. My L14 is the nicest machine around (IMO) and attracts attention both on the ground and in the air.

logo 14

Thanks, Klinger for your insight! Howw long have you had your L14?
I am considering a L14 but wanted the added assurance that the 14 is the way to go. I have a Vario Kobold, its a great machine, but after looking into the logos I have noticed the similiarities in the head design that mirrors the Vario. What setup are you set for flying - 3d or normal free flight. Cheers,

Neal

If you're thinking L14, then I'd wait for the Align TREX 600 to hit the streets. For 100-150 dollars less, you get the same package, plus a metal head. I'm sure repair parts will be cheaper also.

Personally with the L14, it's not just about repair parts, but also busted Lipos. 10S is going to cost you a lot more than 6S. If you go with L10, what you can do is get 6 x 3S batteries. That way, you have 3 sets of 6S, and later on, when you move up to L14 / TREX 600, you'll have 2 sets of 9S, which will give you almost the same ammount of power as a 10S setup. That's what I'm going to do.

I havent got the most powerful motor in mine yet do have it setup for full 3d and it will compare if not beat performance of most nitro 50's in my club. I've only had mine for 4-5 weeks and am loving it and progressing into 3d but mainly now its serious sport flying mostly. From what i've read to get good 3d out of the align 600 you'd need to go 10s anyway. The engineering on the L14 is second to none IMO.
