If so what do you think and is it worth it???????I'm getting ready to order my new EFX kit and am thinking of just getting the Avant head while I'm at it...is it more than just bling???

I have one on an old Freya (that will be converted to Avant).

I only have about 4 flights on it but it is a fantastic (!!!!!!!!!)
head. The Freya has never flown better.

I can't compare it tothe Evo90 head but that looks (from the
flying I've seen) like a very good head also.

Head....

I have an Evo 90 that i'm converting and am wondering if the metal avant head is an upgrade over the evo head......I love the bling but that avant head is big bucks.....I could do without if it wasn't a noticeable difference...anyone have any pics of it on their birds?????

I did the same thing but after seeing the Avant head in person I just had to have one. The Evo head fly’s nice but I don’t believe it unleashes the beast in the machine.

Taipan has one (I have one two but my Avant is not built)
I can assure you that the Avant head is much faster
than using a Hirobo head, it will be too fast for some.
Being programable you can tone it right down,
but if you go too far maybe a Hirobo head is all you need.

When Taipan installed his, he went for fast/agressive settings.
He does this death spiral and comes out inverted nose in,
I've never seen a heli do so many flips or spirals
on the way down, and the roll rate was insane.
He's since toned it down...it's still fast but not insane

I think this head is for really crazy 3D - it's right out there

that echos my experience w/ the APH. Extremely fast (if you
set it that way) but always in control and 'locked in'.

But, realize that the Avant FX & EFX kits COME w/ some head
modification parts already. Depending on your flying style
(and to put it bluntly, your skill), those mods may well be
enough.

My suggestion is build the EFX, do the 'standard' head mods
and try it. It certainly will not be worse than stock (which is
actually quite good, significantly better than the original
Freya head)

Yeah, good point Z11355.
When both Taipan and BenJ built their Avants
they used XSpec heads and the CX mods,
the Avant does rock in this configuration.
You need to be a bing master or 3D master
to want/need the programmable head.
