How does the evo fly compared to a tempest.I was interested in a 90 size that was a little cheaper on parts for when i crash. MA is quite hi. Do these 2 helis fly close to each other?I m sure its been posted before but i am working and dont have much time to search around atm.
Thnx

Even helicopters of the same make can fly totally different. It is all in the setup. Generally speaking though, the Freya line have a much more stable locked in feel than the MA machines. However, the MA machines may be more aggressive at the expensive of stability.

If you set up an Evo with a light flybar (the stock paddles are adjustable) and minimal flybar feedback (the Evo is very tunable and adjustable) and a good set of blades like the MAH or Radix line, you will have a very responsive helicopter.

The Hirobo heads are not floating axles. They are fully controlled which gives them that classic Hirobo feel. Not only that, but Freya spares are very reasonably priced and the heli itself is bullet proof.

The Freya Evo and X-Spec Evo (X-Spec now packaged with Evo head) are great value for money. I suggest you try flying one, hopefully there is a rep in your area.

My problem is crashing alot . i cant count how many times i rebuilt the evo 50 . the reason i rebuild them is i can afford to crash ( hate crashin tho )i love the tempest but cant really enjoy it due to the cost factor. so the freya is starting to look good to me .and its about time for me to start flying 90s a little more often .

Hi:

Another point to take in consideration is the fact the Freya mechanics are easier to assemble and maintain. It's known the Fury line of helis have the worst parts to money ratio.

What Chris says about flying both is one of the best things you can do to decide which one is better for you.

The Evo 90 would be the better choice.

The X-Spec kit with the Evo head would be Even better.

Either way, You'll be happy with the Hirobo.

They fly awesome.

I flew WreckRman's Evo 90 on friday and was hooked from the first lift off. He was kind enough to let me burn off two tanks. One with wights in the paddles, and the other without. Let be the first to tell you that it is a night and day difference between the two set-ups. And what's more, is the fact that we didn't even have to stop the engine to take the wieghts out of the paddles. I love that bird and will own one by the end of the month.
