Good, I wonder if that was the beginning of a batch or the end of one?

I have another question. Do I still need the little brackets for the fan shroud? I thought I read that there is a carbon piece included now

who knows. maybe they're popular and it takes time to
manufacture it all.

just order it and wait a bit. it's not going to kill you.

The Avant does come w/ a carbon version of the fan bracket.

but, the fan doesn't come w/ the small screws needed to hold
the shroud together. you can easily substitute those.

also, you prbably want to order some extra 2x12 roll pins and
a pkg of EX balls w/ standoff.

I emailed them yesterday and they told me it is a 10 wait from time of order. Gonna go for it huh?

I ordered avant and it came in 10 days later with 2nd day shipping. Like z11355 said, it comes with carbon bracket for fan shroud.

Hi Lou, yeah I think Iam going to go ahead and order the kit. I already ordered the fan shroud and other little parts from Rick's this morning. 10 day wait is not bad. I can wait

So do I understand correctly that you don't have to order the Fan Shroud Bracker 0404-713? It has been replaced with a kit included CF peice?

Doesn't matter... if Ben won't fly it now he surely won't fly it after upgrading to the Avant!

CHICKEN!

thats correct. the kits now come w/ a carbon version of the
bracket.

the kit DOESNT come w/ small screws to hold the 2 fan shroud
halves together though. Nor does it come w/ extra roll pins
in case you screw one up getting the tail drive gear stack
disassembled.

David Iam going to have to put you on my ignore list! I have removed the roll pins from my evo 50 tail pulley 4 times without any trouble so I did not order any. The screws for the shroud were $1.25 I think for 10. It was starting to get real expensive when I was looking into changing the gear ratio for an OS SZ. 97t and a 12T clutch bell totaled almost $100. So I will stick with YS for now. I dont think I will be the worst flyer with one of these

I personally wouldn't re-use a roll pin 4 times.

Just like I do not re-use a locknut more than 4-5 times and
depending on the location, I won't reuse certain screws (like
the 2 M3x8 SHCS that hold the gear to the mainshaft).

that kind of 'hardware' just isn't 'forever'.

Man if you keep it up I'm not flying with you anymore! LOL OS? What's gotten into you?

A few guys have said they are running the SZ with the stock gear ratio and doing fine with it.

You still have to fly it! No more of these get the 50 and 90 out of the car and only fly the 50... HAHA

I asked Jeff about this and according to him, 8.45 was selected
because it worked well w/ both the YS and OS-91SZ
