Has anyone tried the Intrepid Gasser EB on GreatPlanes RealFlight G3 simulator?
Is it close to real thing?

I did the final tweaking to the program, and made it as close as I could to how my EB feels.

I have been told that it feels a little slow compared to the real thing, but that could be in setup differences on the real thing also.

I tried it when I was at Gary's house. I think it's a pretty close match myself. I actually thought flying the real thing was easier than the sim. So, if you are wondering, in my opinion if you can master the Intrepid on the sim, you won't have any trouble for real.

Weird how that works, isn't it. I gave up on sims. Can't fly 'em. Guess I'll have to stick to my Intrepid. I could think of worse things!

I use the sim primarily as an emergency procedures trainer. Its a little safer than trying countless autos, tail rotor failures and servo failures with a newbie at the sticks like me than using my observer.
And it is tax deductable as a business expense. We need a training program for aerial photography don't we?

I agree with all your reasons for using it. I'd like to use one for exactly that. I don't know why but I can't even hold a hover for long with one. I can run the tank to fumes on my Intrepid in heavy winds without concern. Just weird, I guess

Mark,
I totally know what you mean about sims being wierd to fly. I fly a full motion sim for recurrent training at work and it is alot different than the real thing. After a several hours it finally starts becoming natural. If you have patience for it, it usually gets better.
