Guys,
I retired my backup Shogun when I bought my T-Rex SE. Now I'm just flying my primary Shogun V2, the T-Rex (very nice, by the way) and my Kyosho 30.
Regards,
Bill.

Shelldude, you have to post some pictures when done. Are you planning on using a scale body?

I'll be sure to post a few in process and when its done. I currently do not have a scale body but am contemplating one. Really am doing it moreso for the tinker factor

I heard back from HubDave the other day. I should have my raised tail in a week or two.

This is our (Dave has been extremely patient with me on this one) current plan:

  • USA Composit Ti Frame boom mount modified to fit the OD of a T-Rex boom (non-stretch 450x version)
  • Use his T-Rex raised tail
  • Using the HD/eBay belt conversion but I may need to go with Dave's depending on initial results.

Since I'm working with the Ti Frame I have a bit more flexibility than with the standard plastic one as you're able to work with the boom mount separately. Unlike the plastic frame you can remove the boom mount from the assembly. Dave did express some concern about weakening the integrity of the boom mount which means I'll have to be extra careful.

As soon as all the stuff arrives I'll take pictures and step through the build process. This is gonna be fun!

WoW, sounds like a cool upgrade
Can't wait to see the pix. Might have to try this with my T-gun SE.

I've been flying my shogun every day since I got it to fly right!
Lowered the headspeed to keep the tail from blowing up, got the bad servo out of there, now I get maybe almost 20 minutes flight time with 3 cell 2100 battery.
Mine's all stock except for the brushless motor, glass blades and carbon paddles, it flies really well, but only OK for mild 3D. When I flip it things get sketchy (Too slow on cyclic), I THINK I need to really UP the headspeed (which would start costing too much $$$) to get anything more out of this bird, so it's my Positive only daily flyer!
Good sport flyer. For 3D it's OK, Trex SE probably MUCH better.
