A few weeks back, I witnessed a fellow modeler flying the Knight 50 (carbon version) and I was TOTALLY impressed with its performance so I figured I had to have one and see how it does. when I saw it fly for the first time, I could have sworn it was a .90 size ship. Climbout and precise flying is a standard for this bird.

I purchased the carbon version with an OS .50 Hyper and a SB-50 Muffler two weeks ago. With my schedule crazy as it has been, I have finally had the opportunity to build it. Started on it on Monday night and today (Thursday) I am just about completed with the construction. All that is left is to mount the electronics and its all ready.

I have been totally impressed with this helicopter and I have to admit that this machine was a true joy to build. With the exception of a few modifications (I felt were necessary), It builds very precisely with no modification at all. I should have it ready to fly around Mayday. I had Arizona Heli do the paintjob on the canopy and expect to have it sometime today.

I believe this machine is a real winner. What do you guys think?

i think theyre a superb heli. Certainly knocks the spots off the usual 50 size helis, and better value for money. Cant go wrong with a Knight. Looking forward to getting my new Knight Sport aswell

Its a stunning machine which is hard to fault,Compass models have a real winner on their hands here and the sport version is going to make the other manufacturers cry..

I took the new Knight out today and flew it up and around (still running very rich). Tons of power and very manueverable. Tail authority is stellar. I flew it twice, then on the third attempt on startup, the fan spun on the motor. Oh well-easily corrected.

Very solid in flight! Very easy to fly!

wow i must say for the first time evr seeing it in ppieces and not as a whole heli is that its very easy and fast building helcopter! a couple more night and i will have all my linkages done!

Mine went together very quickly too. Someone advised me to check the feathering shaft to confirm that the bolts were locktited (mine is the all metal and an early kit). I did have to add locktite.

MTA has the black metal (hardened) tail hubs in stock also (I have not changed mine yet).

I have much to learn on modern glow machines but the set up was a breeze.

Are you running a governor? I picked up the new Youngblood governor from Rosie yesterday and am working on figuring it out.

Jason put the longest bracket you got on the motor put the senor on finger tight and mark with a pencil the center, next find a spot where a fan blade is and mark that center. Now find a drill the size of the magnet and grind the tip off (flat like a end mill) now drill the depth of the magnet. Its best to use a drill press, Don't drill into the fan blade. Use good epoxy.

Perfect A129!! I want to move on to Nitros by end of this year, and the Knight 50 IS my choice.
Just looking at all the options.

But it is curious why such a great flying heli doesn't have any hype - e.g. compare with the Raptor and their Kasama heads - they brag about it aaall day.

Another example: there are only 359 threads in this forum, compared to 132,000!! at the Raptor side... hmmmmm....
