Hi

I am disapionted that some one let you fly a model which is not yet run in so presumably not fully set up yet, this would certainly make it difficult for any one to tell how the model will be when sorted out.

Regarding the models weight, I honestly don't know exactly what it is as the only scales I have are reading a little over, all I can say is it weights 500 grams less than a freinds R90 SE.
If I had to make a estimate I would say it is probably about 4.7KG.
It's light enough.

I preume the head speed must of been down or the the set up was not right as cyclic and collective power are not a issue, I run mine at 1880 head speed, the 91 SZ seems to like this and the model locks in at this speed.
I run V paddles on both of mine but I have flown one with SAB paddles and this was about the same cyclic power.

The G10 frames although slightly heavier and not as nice looking as carbon are tough as both myself and Jason have found out:-)
Carbon frames will be a option but the G10 really works well.

Switch loction, you could relocate the switch but the correct placement does keep it out of the oil and crap, you can reach up under the canopy or dremel a hole in the canopy, no big deal either way.

The ball link play is a old and well know issue, the steel balls on that machhine will have a black finish and were intended to be chrome plated, most likely the production balls will be hard finished and lot smooth finish than those ones, the current balls will not make to the production machines period!

Glade you recognized the good points on the machine, the stability in forward flight is also very very good for a full on 3D machine.
I hope the guys get it set up fully soon and you get a chance to fly it when it going correctly.

Get the guys to email me if they have any questions, bob@skylinemodels.co.uk

Cheers

Nice one!

I saw 2 of them on the 3D masters last year and I must say it was quite a bit lighter than my R90 And very clever in design.
One thing that I really loved was the way they mounted the rpm sensor for the governor, really nice touch!

Anyway, it seems to be a very nice helicopter with a lot of clever features!

When will it be available?

Cheers,

Richard

On my friends heli the sensor came installed in the usual way on the engine mount. there're holes for the magnet on the clutch bell too anyway.

Hmm strange, On JK's heli the sensor was installed above the clutch bell... which is a VERY nice feature imho because it makes removing the engine soooo much easier and faster, not to mension the sensor NOT failing/getting dirty because it's out of harms way...

Only downside was that the pressurised thank was touching the muffler and a small hole was burned into it.

What muffler is he using? The Hatori's that were on the machines I saw cleared the tank really well... one was running a OS and the other machine a YS so it shouldn't be a problem, pressurewise. Well maybe with a fat MP2 on the side... (I like those though I have 2 of them)

Anyway, nice helicopter! Keep us up-to-date!!

Cheers,

Richard

Hi

Both my machines just used none pumped SZ engines currently, we have one with a Cline set up and MP2, this has not problem either.
The only thing I can think of is the two almost production models we have did not come with the correct tank mounting rubber strip but just some silicon tube cut lenght ways as a temp measure, this does allow the tank to move a little so it might just have touched the muffler.
One machine has the correct rubber mount and this is much more secure.

Cheers

I have a silicon tube too inside and find it well so I can push the tank away from the magicpipe and have clearence enough with 5mm, if tank is under pressure.
As I changed to regulator with pressurised tank, I blow him up with a compressor to have a look and put for beeing safe a 5mm spacer between motor and magicpipe.
The spacer I put out after the first flights, because enought clearence, but may be if it is going hot outside I will put him in again.
