Has anybody written a good procedure for swashplate setup on a CCPM system. Stuff like good practices and the like. Reducing if posssible the interaction in some systems. Just curios. First time CCPM setup is a challenge. I did it with help but I would just like to see if there are any good pointers out there.

Hey Crashr30 (or someone else who knows)

Could you tell me what servos should move in what directions to what stick inputs for the fury. I tried the HLI2 mode on my Futaba Super 7. Here is what happens:
Collective stick: servos A, B and C move in same direction
Aileron stick: A and B move in opposite directions
elevator stick: only D moves
rudder stick: only E moves

Is this how the servos must move for the fury?

I am waiting for the Fury 90 release. I have everything else. I will buy a new transmiter if I must but really don't want to.
Thanks
Russ

Russ,

Your radio is about half-way there.

It looks like it does the same thing as the non-S 8U does. You need two p-mixes to get the rest of the job done.

From your description, servo C is throttle, and servo E is rudder. These seem to be doing the right thing.

A and B are aileron and pitch.
D is elevator.

When you move the collective stick, A, B, C and D should all move.

A, B, D should move according to the pitch curve. C should move according to the throttle curve.

Elevator stick should move A, B, and D.
A and B move together, in the opposite direction to D. A and B should also move half as far as D for a given elevator input.

To get this to happen, mix pitch to elevator at 100% (both directions), link OFF. This should get D moving with A and B for collective input.

The other mix is elevator to aileron. This is set to -50%, with link ON. This should get A and B moving opposite to D for elevator stick input.

The mixes are what it takes for an non-S 8U to do 120 CCPM. I don't know whether the Super 7 has the same mixing capability. The 8U has two free p-mixes in heli mode, and both get used, so you can't have cyclic to throttle mixing or swash corrections. Unless you are using a governor, not having cyclic to throttle mixing could be a problem.

Make sure the A, B, D servos all have the same ATV settings. I think you should be able to use the elevator and aileron dual-rates and expo.

The pitch curve should work normally, but inhibit the hover pitch trim knob. It will only affect one servo, so any attempt to use it will have your Fury flying off in wierd directions.

Also, I'm describing the mixes from memory. I may not have it quite right. The descriptions of the servo movements are correct. You may have to change the directions of the mixes. Don Edberg's book on the 8U has the correct descriptions in it.

Hey Thanks guys
I do have PMX1 and PMX2 which are now unused. They allow any channel to mastered to any slave with any percentage in either direction. So I should be able to do what you say. I will try it tonignt after work.
