Last year I picked up a half built Intrepid gasser for a fast $100 The person I know just gave up on it. Any way, it's missing a few parts, whole tail end, which is no problem. The heli as far as I can tell is 5-6 years old. It came with a 30 1/2 inch boom--21mm OD--19+ ID and two 8mm holes at one end. Fits boom holders but not tight. A 30 inch by 5/16 orange alu drive tube, with a 1 inch long center bearing, bearing is at one end of tube. Fits tube but not tight, can push through with no pressure. Wire support for a drive wire that looks like old GMP 18 1/2 long brass tube with the three black bushing guides. Pinion gear has black 1 inch long by 3/8?? drive tube on other end with cross slots in center looks like for drive wire that had loop on the end. Also belt drive unit for main gear also looks like GMP with red plastic pully. Tail shaft with red pully, one end of shaft has 1/4 inch by 3/8 long end just out side of pully a quick look at it???? Could any of these be Intrepid parts???? THANKS

Very old Intrepid parts. Sounds like part of a belt drive, part of a wire drive, and part of a TT drive.

Intrepid

Chris Checking over the heli this is what I see. Engine has three point mounting--all controls are push pull and gold color--mixing arms gold--g10 frames--all alu head--paddles have curved tips--spacers on frame also gold--main shaft hollow 10mm--two bearing support for main shaft--black main gear. Now when I got this heli he also sold me two GMP heli's plus a bag of parts, so some of the parts may have been mixed in with the Intrepid parts. Is there a way to tell how old this is and if so is it worth it? Or better to buy a new one. Only parts needed to complete is from pinion gear back to tail box, every thing up front is mint. Also the head looks the same as the ones I see in all photos--is the head complete or do you have to build when you get the kit.---THANKS

The rotor head is NOT prebuilt.

The engine is now mounted at 7 places, 4 around the bottom on the pull start adapter plate, and the normal 3 that you see.

If you got it for $100, it is most definitely worth it, although you may spend upwards of $5-600 to get it up to today's specs with the tail assy being the most costly.

It might be a good idea to get a copy of the newest manual to compare with what you have, then decide what needs to be updated.
