My Intrepid Gasser EB come out very tail heavy.

Any recommendations on how to add weight to balance it?

Many thanks for the help.

With the blades ready to fly and parallel to the heli, lift the heli by the flybar.
Add weight (in the front) until the heli is balanced.
My Intrepid EB need 600grams ... yes!.
I used an old computer's Hard Drive!

I've got 16 -18oz. lead in a small plastic box temporarily on mine. Will remove that when I get the camera mount on.

With the addition of the longer boom and Heavy Duty tail gearbox, it does come out tail heavy. The addition of weight to the nose will not affect it's flying or weight carrying capabilities, unless you get up into the 12-15 Lbs category, at which time I would recommend the Industrial Twin!!

This is also the reason for the Extra long and thick Battery tray, to give you some room to put the weight needed.

The cure 4 me was

"Full" fuel tank moved forward a little.
Fiberglass canopy.
Large battery mounted low and forward on the battery tray.
Electronics low and forward on the tray as well.
Don't scrimp on the items you might add, volt watch, governor, gyro, strong box, etc, etc all forward. This heli is not like an electric,or even a 50 or 60 size heli, we don't worry about a few ounces up front, I must admit that I however did at first until I began flying it and found it is very powerful and is not overly affected by a perfect balance point but I do hove it pretty close now. BUT this is just how I found it to be you may find it different for your style of flying I have a tendency to worry about things that in the long run work them self out differently than I though they would "Best of luck" let us know how it turns out Mike

zip tie a plastic container to the battery tray and fill it with lead musket balls from your local sporting goods store until it is balanced.

I balanced my Intrepid by adding some 400 grams (14 oz.) of lead, epoxied inside a small plastic box.
I'm using two batteries, one as backup, and it balanced very well with the fiberglass canopy.

I also took the opportunity to change the way the aileron servo is mounted, following Chris Bergen's suggestion in another post.

Comments will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Looks good.

Try running that aileron servo wire under the gyro, then it won't rub or hit on the gyro, possibly giving false inputs.

Chris,
Thanks. The wire is now running under the gyro.

Hey Chris;
Is that your recomended aileron servo mounting method? It's the first time I see that. What is the advantage of it?

It's an optional method.
