Set an empty model in your TX.
Make shure subtrims are all 0 and high/low EndPoints for all channels are equal (normally all 100)
Put Tx in a flight mode with throtle and pitch curves set to 0-25-50-75-100
Goto AUX-CH screen in tx and assign channels 5 to 8 to any of the 3-position switches.
Put that switch to center, so that the value for channels 5 to 8 is 0
Center both sticks
Do the calibration in reflex.

This should work. It's essential that all channels are centered when calibrating. After this you can reverse the channels you need, either in your radio or in reflex.

Is there a life outside the sim?

Are you absolutly sure that the model selected is in PPM mode. You symptoms sound just like what happens if you are in PCM mode.

errr i just changed the mode, it now works better. the only thing it is doing now is when i lift the weight of the skids it spins through 360 degrees then crashes. i have tried using the trims but to no avail.

If you are in idleup (or the default governor on mode) them be sure the throttle/pitch stick is centered before the flight starts. If the stick is all the way down, then the heli is starting at full throttle and full negative pitch. In most sceneries, this means it pushes into the ground with enough force to damage the tail rotor, causing the uncontrolled rotation and crash.

thanks for the help, i have tried that, it is if the rudder trim if wrong the chopper will swing around through 360 with litlle throtle on, then when i lift off the ground it pitches left and spins.

i am so glad i bought the sim tho i would have smashed the real chopper by now.

cheers

This is much harder to diagnose without seeing what is going on. Do you know an experienced heli pilot that can try it and help? What model are you flying? (Most, but not all, have a Heading Hold gyro and therefore should need not rudder trim if all is set up correctly.) Have you tried any of the hover practice mode, so that you need to only control one stick?

Look at the Radio display option where you can see the values for each channel (not the channel assign).
Do the values stay the same in the centre and move as expected to the full + and - values when the sticks are moved full throw?

If so have you tried reversing the Rudder channel?
