I have reflex and find it really good, you need to make sure the spec of your computer is able to run reflex tho before you buy

If you can get over the cost of it, it's a seriously sweet simulator. Mine came this morning from Inwood Models (ordered it yesterday afternoon - amazing service!) and I can't stop playing it!

Make sure you get the right lead for your transmitter though.

Cheers,

David

PS. Am running it at full resolution (1440x900) on my MacBook Pro (1.83GHz Intel Dual Core, 2GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 128MB of VRAM) and get super smooth performance.

Some times setting it up with the right leads etc , I had a problem but it turned out that a wire had fallen off the plug inside the radio I was using .
It was my fault has I converted it from right stick throttle to left

Hi Charlie,

Sorry I don't have any experience with other sims (Reflex is my first and probably last for a while!). I had no problems setting it up .... you might want to read this thread I found though:

http://runryder.com/helicopter/t201541p1

Search for 'Reflex problems' too ... shows most of the threads that would be of interest.

Cheers,

David

hi David

Thx for that I am going out to get reflex soon I will lt you know how it goes. Is it true you can take a pic with a digi cam and put it as your flying scene? or myth? and can you put the exact same flying setup as you fly on in real life, in the sim or is that myth as well??? hope this makes sense!!! I dont read through!!!!!!!!! thx everyone for your help
keep infoming me and everyone on new News

You can put in your own scenery, but there is a lot more to it than just taking "a" picture. You have to take a whole series of pictures, covering 360 degrees using a good tripod and then stitch them together in a specific way. Right now there isn't any way to put in collision data so that the heli crashes when it hits something. So far everyone just uses a stock scene that is similar to their field and replaces the image, but if the stock scene has a tree and your scene doesn't, then you may crash in mid-air for no apparent reason using your scene. Likewise, if your scene has a tree and the stock one does not, you may fly right through your tree without a crash, or behind it with the heli still visible.

Reflex is going to make a tool that will solve this problem, but it is not available yet.

That would be awesome if you could make your own scenery .... I found this interesting demo vid on the internet that shows you how to make 360° spherical panoramics ... the commentary's in French but the video 'speaks' for itself

http://www.fromparis.com/webpics/_t..._in_10_mnts.mov

Imagine being able to fly at your own field whenever the weather wasn't cooperating or in the evenings ... that'd be soo cool!

Cheers,

David
