I haven't flown when it was really coming down. I planted my micro a bunch of times into 2'+ with no problems for electronics. Now that I have a 9c and it's corresponding higher cost, I might be more hesitant to fly if snow was getting on it. The only real worries I had was planks ingesting snow in the carb. Since I'm running the airfilter on my Intrepid, I wouldn't be too concerned about that. I always put my aircraft by the furnace duct after snow 'encounters' just to make certian they dried out thouroughly. I have heard of others going to the trouble to waterproofing thier electronics.
So the turbine bug is chewing on you, huh? I haven't seen one in person, though I hope that will change this weekend. Greg has told me he'll bring his with him when he's out this way. I wonder where I can get a can of turbine-bug repellant. I'm not sure I can afford to be bitten!
Maybe I'll hold out for Malorie's Dilithium Chrystal engine. Warp factor what?
