Need help with swift that shuts off after any high collective....

I have same set up but use CC phoenix-80.

Lets us know the settings on your ESC...definitely sounds like the culprit.

Fribb,

Sounds like you are getting some RF noise. Under load (lots of collective) RF noise might be shutting your motor down.

Try installing a ferrite ring on your esc lead, just before it goes into your receiver. I use a 100mm servo lead and wrap it aroung 5 times around the ring, and plug it into the esc and rec'r.

Ferrite rings have helped make all my +3 lipo heli set-ups a lot more glitch-free, and have improved their range as well. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Tom C

if your using a UBEC you want a ring around the lead thet goes into the RX also. worked for me.

Mines set at 4V, I fly by my transmitter timer, not the ESC's low voltage cutoff, you don't want a motor cut whilst inverted 2 feet off the ground

CC-80 settings (same as 60)

Cut-off Voltage = 1 / Auto Lipo *default (disabled with removal of red wire)

Current Limiting = 5 / Disabled

Brake Type = 5 / Brake Disabled

Throtle Type = 3 for low or 4 for high Governor

Electronic timing advance = 2 / Standard Advance

Cutoff Type = 2 / Soft cutoff

Soft Start = 2 / Soft Start (use faststart for practicing autos and make sure blades are tight)

PWM Switching Rate = 2 / 26khz

These are my settings using a tango 45-10 and 6S...and it works great.
