How does it feel like owning a cp? did it make u feel more frustrated being in the r/c heli hobby or did it make you more interested to try to master that jiggly little thing.

or worse made you feel like sellling it and buy a trex or a mx400 to learn how to fly better.

come on people i'm sure u would want to share something after owning the blade cp for some time , joys and sorrow all welcomed

The CP is my first heli and I couldn't be happier!
Crashes are cheap, upgrades are plenty and it's a ton of fun.

I realize it may be harder to fly than some of the big brothers, but that adds to the challenge!

It definitely makes me want to buy a T-Rex or similar next, but definitely in addition to the CP, not as a replacement!

I like my BCP a lot!

Cheers,
Andre

How does it feel owning a cp?
Frustrating, thrilling, angry, elated, gives me a headache, relaxing, ticks me off, satifies my urge to tinker.
It's bipolar disorder in a box!

Too funny,Kiiski hit the mark But that being said the
CP was my first Heli also, So I didn't know the likes of T-rex
and others so I just learned and adjusted to it! If I saw the
trex or nito birds first the cost may have been harder
to swallow! But hearing about all these larger HH helis electric
and nitro being so much more stable hopfully The the Blade CP
will have made me a better RC pilot and the adjustment will be
easier because crashing the larger birds isn't so cheep!!

I guess I'll chime in here. I've been flying fixed wing for 30 years. Always wondered if I could get a heli around. The Blade has been a lot of fun for the money. I find it somewhat more stressful than flying my scratchbuilt 3D foamies because repair is so fast and cheap on them. BUT the Blade is a totally different thrill and challenge. I'm getting it around real nice but have yet to try aerobatics. High speed figure 8's with that blade noise as it comes whipping by is a thrill I must admit. I upgraded to the AEK, TP1320's, B/H upgrade, Supergear from helidirect and feagio brushless tail motor (direct drive) w/3x3 prop. I have rebuilt several parts from crash damage. The 2 worst crashes were because the tail motor went out!! that's why i went brushless tail and have not looked back. Main motors have lasted pretty well and you can look inside the motor and check the brush wear so you don't have a suprise. the soft main shaft still irritates me. Any tip over in the grass seems to bend it. I have always been able to straighen it without removing it but it's just irritating. The main shaft retaining pin auggered out the hole in the shaft so I reciently replaced it because there was excessive play. I oiled all the bearings, put a little white lithium grease on the main shaft and it's a smooth flying heli. Parts are cheap and readily available at 2 different hobby shops here in Kansas City. I hate tearing these things up but they sure are fun on a calm evening and you get that GOOD flight in. I'd probably love a Trex or something but for now am not willing to spend 600 to 800 bucks for it. For any newbies, follow the procedures on bladecprepair.com for setup, practice on a sim, and you'll love this little bird. I use the stock transmitter and find it works fine. A friend of mine said he could barely control his until he set up another computer radio on it. I can't believe it was the radio. I think his heli setup, head, blade, etc was off. Setup is all important I believe. thanks for letting be babble on.

I don't really have any problems with it. I mean, it's a full functioning, collective pitch heli for $220...that was unheard of 15 years ago. What did we have back then- a Kalt Whisper? And how much was that? Then there was that Lite Machines job they came out with, but that never looked too capable IMO. I've had shuttles, concept .30s, and a Schluter Champion. After expensive crashes, I sold all of them and vowed NEVER to get back into R/C helicopters, and just fly planks. I can honestly say, without the Blade CP, I would not be on this board or flying helicopters today. I might even get a TRex or something, but I doubt I'll go glow again just because of runaway flying field encroachment nowadays. I'm not scared of flying the CP like I was with those gas jobs since there's not $600+ in the air. But, I've never been a 3D guy or anything. It satifies my urge to just cruise around, and do low strafing runs over baseball diamonds; a job previously held by my GWS Tigermoth. Maybe I'll start having problems with it like some of you have, and will be eating my words. But for now I'm happy. (Knock on wood.)

It's great. First heli, learned how to fly with it. I got it early March and I can throw it around the park now (nothing fancy, no inverted, but I can really fly now).

The only minor frustration is that during the 'learn to hover' stage I crashed every couple of flights, now during the 'forward flight' stage I'm crashing every 5 or so. When I start playing with loops, rolls, and inverted, it's going to get worse. Most of them are pretty minor but it's still a constant drain of money. I've never been able to just keep flying with it for longer than a week without having to fix something. That gets frustrating, but it's also kind of fun to take a broken heli and get it back in perfect shape.

If you were more patient than I am, you could probably have 1/4 as many crashes. I always end up trying things on impulse and get into trouble over it.

Flies great brand new...first charge.

great micro for learning to fly, maintain, upgrade an rc helicopter.

can be modified into a heavenly frankenchopper but this should only be done for the novelty of doing so...Getting a mini with a basic setup will give you more performance for less money.

Blade CP
JR RX and JR6102 TX
HS55 servo's
alum swash.
Esky Bell hiller head
CF main blades
Helidirect frame
Shogun LG struts and skids

Might as well add my opinion.

I learned on a Raptor 30 and now have two of them. I'm at the hovering stage and just beginning FF. I've had a couple of crashes with my Raptors and the related crash costs. I've got two CP's and love them!! Yes, they are everything kiiski says they are, and for my money, they are great. I use mine as a sim. A bit of computor time and then throw the CP around to practice. The pucker-factor is almost nonexistant and I'll try things that I might not with a Raptor. There's G2, G3, Reflex......and the CP.

This is my first heli and I have to say that when I somehow manage to pull out of what looked to be a horrible crash,,the excitement and the shaking hands after i set it down is well worth it to me!! Never got that from my RC cars back in the day!!

How does it feel

I have flown gas heli's for a number of years but,I got out of the hobby because I got tired of clutch's and flywheels coming loose when I was dying to fly. I got tired of the mess and tinkering with the engines, and the fuel mess.
The Blade took away all the reasons I stopped flying helis. When I want to fly I turn it on and fly..no mess no fuss. I can fly as good on the Blade as I did with the Concept 30 gas......well all but the auto rotation that is. and that was no loss to me.

It took a couple weeks to get use to the light weight and less power but I think it made me a better pilot to be honest. Also Im so Impressed with electric helis Im looking at getting a Trex SE

My first also, I think I will concentrate on learning and upgrading the CP instead of spending $1000-$1500 an a Trex. I think this would be a great heli when some upgrades are done, it will last me a while.

I've had my Blade about 6 months now. I also have 2 Raptors [30/50] a Trex 450XL and a semi retired Shogun. The heli's I find the Most fun in my mini fleet are the Blade CP and either Raptor. The heli that is most flown in my fleet is the Blade CP!
When I first bought the Blade and flew it out of the box ,,stock, I almost returned it but I also bought the AEK/Lipo upgrade so I threw it in and it was better. But not good enough. After fixing a poor factory setup it was a ball to fly. Yesterday I put in a Bell-Hiller staying with the stock TX I'm even happier with it. It handles like a Bumble Bee,,,it's great!
I will say to you electric guys that you do owe it to yourself to fly a nicely setup nitro machine. A used Raptor is alot cheaper than a Trex and you wouldn't believe the stability and power. They Lock in until you tell it otherwise and the sky's the limit.
I love the Blade just as much as any of my other heli's as they are all so different and each offers their own strenghts and weaknesses.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly better than I can pilot them

[quote]ANy tips and pointers on how to set up the heli really well?

Practice on your Sim and search here on this list and read alot. I guess I would read up here on how to track blades. Unlike me many I think have had good luck with their Blades as setup from the factory. I guess mine was setup at 4:50 PM on a Friday Afternoon!!!! Better you are with your thumbs or fingers or What Ever on the TX the better you will be able to cope with a flight problems.
Keep practicing!

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly better than I can pilot them

Hey Opps,
Let me tell you about the Little Blade CP. It was my first heli and I love it. It was a little fustrating a first but once you got the hang of it it's GREAT.. I would never give up my Blade CP. I now have a T-Rex XL and my Blade CP is still just as much fun as ever.
