Wow, looks like one sweet bird!! Superb quality and workmanship, on par for Hirobo. I can't believe some of the complainers in this thread. I think it's a pretty fair price and like most of us know all to well........."you get what you pay for" and I'd like to throw one more in there; "If you can't run with the big dogs then stay on the porch"!!

The world is getting pretty sweet for the 50 electric afficianado with a generous budget.

We already have the Logo 14 carbon, which is pretty spectacular; soon comes a mini-Joker at twice the price - and now this one!

But the world seems to also be getting sweet for slightly more limited electric budgets. There is the Swift, the Raptor 50 conversion, and soon the Align 50.

Life is good..

Using today's conversion the helicopter comes out at about $700 and the motor and ESC at about $250 each. I think I'll be going with a Hacker or Neu motor and CC ESC at less than half the price.

Hacker A30-10XL and Master 40 look promising on a 4S setup.

Hacker A30-8XL and Master 40 esc for 3S2P.

We wont know until testing can be done with both setups.

I am not sure if the NEU can will fit inside the frame without dimensions..I know Hirobo has been testing a 37mm motor.

.6 moudule is ths same as 48 pitch metric. Robinson Racing makes this gear pitch but the mounting hole is not 5mm. According to Robinson Racing, people do open the hole, but the set screw does not have a lot of threads to use. They are thinking about changing the hub to accomodate a 5mm output shaft so we will see. Hopefully by the time the heli comes out, there will be a host of sizes available. Robinson already has sizes up to 24 teeth. Maybe give them a call. With enough demand, they may just get going on making pinions for the rc electric heli crowd. Their website is www.robinsonracing.com.

In the meantime we are working on this topic as well.

After viewing photos...love location of motor...love tail linkage...love tail design.

After reading ALL post here...here is what stood out IMO:

Listed Price. MSP or street price...unknown...was not answered.

Parts Prices...unknown...was not answered.

Unusual blade size...but not an issue as blade makers will jump on it for sure.

Battery compartment...nice but exclusive...not enought details.

Landing gear one full piece unlike with separate tubes. Gorilla like quality?..comment was..."We'll see, maybe they are super strong"

Gyro is exposed being on top...no one mentioned this one.

PPM not recommended...which potentially means same issues as Trex SE.

Heli size...
Some tried to compare to a Logo10 (3d cost more than the deluxe which can be compared to swift...per say...but swift can use standard size servos and swing 550mm out of box...but Lepton definitely can't be compared to a Trex SE. Once CNC version become available for logo and swift...it should be a farer comparison...throwing in parts prices and count.

Quick of Japan indeed better priced than Trex SE for what you get...no clue of parts prices though.

Time for brunch...a final comment

There's nothing worse than a ten minute flight, followed by a couple of hours of recharging before the next.

FYI...it only takes ONE hour to charge lipos (@ 1C) and the new emolis (the latest trend) can be charged in 15-20 minutes (@ 3C)...and cost around $100 for a 7S 3000mA...do a search using V28.

With two 7S packs I can make two 6S for my swift...the two spare single cells can be turned into a 2S and used for servos/gyro/running lights...and fly all day...pending project for next month.

I just picked up TWO APEX 3S 2100mA from John for $90 plus a free 325 blade for my Trex...FL tax and shipping total $94....ordered monday here on wednesday...thanks John. No chocolate? nah...kidding...it would have melted before it even left post office in your area

Indeed e-helis are here to stay due to fly anywhere anytime convenience and evolution of cells as well as prices are getting reasonable...for some of us.

Oh yeah...LEPTON was a tea time infusion. one or two clumps?

Damn this looks sweet....No more car payments as of this month...I think this heli will work its way in the budjet

Is that an aluminum or CF boom?

The sleek frame looks like it will make aftermarket scale fuse makers busy.

For its size, this bird is a nice alternative to the Voyager E and the Eco 8.

FWIW, I got my TREX SE V2 for 410 wihtout the motor / esc. That puts it 100-200 dollars less than this, but more importantly, crash parts are cheaper too. Align has fixed the swash issue, and as far as I know, there's no real QC issue with the new SE.

If you want a step bigger, then this could be the ticket for you. I'm sure it'll fly bigger also, though not as big as the Logo / Swift / TRex 600.

Thank you for information about pinion.

I serched mikado pinion.
which are 0.6M?
Parts No.2813-2823?

And,
48P is not 0.6M.I think 48P is 0.53M,may be.

******************************************************
Hirobo Japan said about 4S setting.

In Full throttle straight flight at the pitch 7.5°,
the haed speed is 2600-2700rpm by actual measurement.

When it is standard motor and standard ESC, a high pitch is 7.5°,40A-45A averages by 3D flight.

When the outside diameter of the motor is 40mm, the pinion gear that can be installed is 20T-30T,because of the size of the frame.

Pistol Pete's questions:

1) Street Price: 600-650 depending on the dealer's pricing policies. Check with your favorite dealer for their price.

2) Parts prices are set but not avaialable for publish yet. That price list should be available this week for the US market.

3) Any battery with max dimensions of 50mm wide x 37mm high x 160mm long. We will address the possible use of two 3S 2100 packs in parallel when our sample kit comes in the first week of May.

4) Landing gear strength, we all have to wait until an actual model is seen early next week.

5) Recharge time Comment. Actually if we get the 3S 2100 x2 packs in parallel power system to work as it should, using a MRC 977 dual output charger would mean you are ready to go in an hour or so. With two sets of batteries, you could fly two times while recharging one set to close the gap. The same could be said for Trex guys as well, with the 977 charger, charge two, fly one, put back on charge.

More will come as this new release gets up to speed.

Thanks for the patience.
