HIROBO Freya - Sceadu - Shuttle > New Hirobo Lepton EX Electric Heli

Hello,

My missing parts are the two rollers used to keep the tail drive belt off the side frames (like a Raptor), I don't know the technical name for them!

I obviously can't attach the tail boom and belt properly yet.

Matt

Sorry to hear of this problem. You must be very frustrated, mine arrives tomorrow (fingers crossed!) so I hope nothing missing.

As a relative newcomer to electrics I have adopted a pretty conservative approach, with 3S1p battery and AXI motor. I'm really looking forward to being able to fly in the garden without deafening the neighbours or scaring the wildlife!

Hello,

My missing parts should be here tomorrow, I think revolution Models and been very good about resolving the problem.

The helicopter is a nice build, I have been able to almost complete mine and encountered no other problems.

I'm sure it will fly nicely on 3s packs, I only went for 4s because it was available, I'm sure my flying is not advanced enough to warrant it, we'll see.

I am away from home from tomorrow evening so test flying will have to wait until the weekend, you may well beat me to it.

Matthew.

will the motor and speed control from the trex 600 fit in the lepton? Or is the motor a different size than this class of heli?

Nice pics - thanks for posting. Gives me a better idea of size. Wish the blades were on the Trex.

What paddles are those on Trex? Never seen them.

I know there has been some talk of motor and esc combos for this heli. I was wondering does anyone have an idea of a balls out 4s setup yet? I know jeff is trying a 4s but what are the options for this thing? Thanks.

Hacker a30-10XL w/ Jazz 55 or CC 45HV. You will need a BEC however.

4s 3700 litestorm fits nicely.

Hi everyone - been watching the thread and am just in the process of getting the bits together when I came to speed controllers. I plan on running 4s stock and was wondering if the CC45HV controller would cut the mustard considering that on 3s you are seeing spikes into the 60amps area?

I'm just thinking 4s @ 45amps = ~650 watts (if you want to see something freaky multiply that out directly)

which is more than the motor I'm looking at running (hyperion)

just some questions and thoughts

Well I did not manage to note down everything, a local flier had one I was more interested in flying it, when I took the controls this heli was setup completely wrong.

We went back to the Local Hobby Club Workshop and helped the guy out.

Now that everything was setup in terms of the pitch and gyro, the only thing that was left was programming the CC45HV which at the time was not present ayt the LHC, will be doing it tommorrow.

If I am not mistaken as I recall the lepton was setup with the JR servo's G490T gyro and CC45HV running a hacker A30-8XL 4S batteries did not catch what the brand was.

In terms of quality the only thing that comes to mind was the TR blades and the Skids which are some what over flexible for the added weight of a 4S battery.

Tommorrow hopefully will have the CC45HV setup right and get some flying time in.

Honestly this bird is of high quality I would pay the price.

Seems to be sold out everywhere was checking on it at readyheli.com, heliproz dont have it yet.

Kool...I have the exact same motor and battery as you. Its good to know that it will work good. Building this ship was awesome. Everything is so beautiful and well crafted. This thing is by far the best heli I have built. Im all hirobo all the way. The trex should be ashamed of its self LOL!!

Readyheli seems to recommend 3s or 4s setup.

I beleive 5S is attainable...interested to run the numbers myself and see what I come up with. In theory one could run a 5S (18.5v) pack on the stock 26 tooth pinion, with a 94 tooth main gear (stock) using a 14 turn motor (574Kv) and achieve HS ~ 2,857. I have not done any more detailed analysis in terms of watts, however looks like it could be promising and extremely efficient with such a low resistance motor.

PS: Kits are in stock!
