Ok guys. Lots of good setups, but for hard 3D which are the most recommended?

Hey Adam Turner,

Dude, you rock!

Very nice indeed!!!

Funny thing is I can do every move that you did in the video except the said move is followed by trying to bury the helicopter 6 feet underground! I always "miss it by that much!" Dam gravity always gets me.

Gravity kills........my Swift every time!!!

Great flying.

Ok, thought I would update this now that I have had some time with the machine.

ESC: CC45HV
Motor: Neu 1907-1.5Y
Pinion: 10T
Battery: e-moli 7S
Head Speed: ~2000+
Blades: Rotortech 515
Flight Duration per type of flying...
Hover: ??
Mild-Average: ??
3D: 5.5 minutes

Comments: I am getting 5 minutes hard throw what I can at it flying, Then it starts to slow a little, so I tame it down for another 1 to 1.5 minutes. Then we are done! So far e-moli is great. Bit of a sacrifice in flight time, but otherwise all is good! Very happy with this setup so far. Sorry I don't have any hover or mild-average numbers, my Swift won't sit still that long.

For information I have the same setup as Adam and I've recorded a peak of 43.3A using a Watts Up meter onboard so the CC 45HV should be okay.

You guys running the 1907 on 10T / 7/8S packs, are you sure the motor's not cooking ?

I'm running it on a 9T pinion and it warms up nicely. I tried out a 10T but the HS was crazy with 515's.

... But honey it was only $$$

Hi,

I'm running the 1907-1.5Y on 10T with the 515 nicely. I do need to check my HS though, but so far I like it! This is on 7S e-moli.

How in the world are you guys running 8s on the 1907 with 10t?

Like kookboy said im runnning 7s emoils on 9t and my motor is still pretty hot running 550's.

i would think on 10t and 8s your headspeed would be around 2400???

with aplastic head/grips ect id be nervous at that high of a HS.

yes the motor runs hot 135F in forword flight 160F hovering and 8s is pushing the motor volt limit. so the motor rpm will not go any higher whin using anything more than 7s. i wouldnot use any more than 8s with this motor (1907-1.5)max. volt is 30 7s=25.9--29.4 volt & 8s=29.6--33.6 volt ps my head speed with 8s is 1992 & 7s is 1980 in flight. motor is rated for 160F so it should be ok & i dont have a fan on it.

flight time is about 5 minutes and I'm at the 3 volts per cell. I don't just hover very often, usualy at least piroing and most often pushing the sticks to the corners.
The motor is very hot but the battery is only mildly warm when finished with a flight.
I don't care for the stock paddle and stock woodies combo, they are a bit "pitchy" when hauling ass. I'll have to try some heavier paddles or maybe some carbon blades with a bit more weight.
Pretty happy with the two flights I have on it so far, things should improve as I get used to the beast. I'm thinking about a smaller pinion, I just don't know how much difference a 13 or 12 would make in HS and flight duration.

Jazz 45-10-32
TP4000 6S2P old battery, capacity down to about 3500

This setup is just tested to prepare to put into a Bell222 fuselage.
Powerful and very low temperature for motor and ESC, battery a bit higher but still good. Everything better than my eShuttle and 170g lighter in total weight including a bottom frame to raise up machine for fuselage.

Battery pack ? need help....;-)
Pinion.....depends of the choice of pack!I bought the 9,10,11,12 and 13 tooth ;-)))

Hi,
I received all my electronics but I can't make my choice for the battery pack....
Does anybody use the same motor and esc? Do you know the minimum voltage I should use with this config to avoid a too much amp consumption ? 10S2100 ? (2x 5S2100) or 8S 2500 or 3300.....or perhaps a 7S 3000 Limoly is enough for soft 3D....

Thanks for help
Have a nice day

I have the same motor and ESC and I run a 9 tooth pinion. I run 7 cell emoli packs and get a whopping 11 mins of flight. I run it(my swift!) for 10 mins and hover the last min out, better safe than stupid I always say!

I've read that the 8s emoli is when things really get interesting but haven't tried that yet. My head speed is about 1750 to 1790. Flys good sport not 3d. a 10 tooth or a 8s battery and I think it would be wild. The batteries get 110 degrees tops and the motor 135. I couldn't be happier!!!

Bouata .. i have the exact setup only with a ph45hv esc

I'm using 7 cell emoli's
12t pinion
I set my timer for 6 mins taking in 2400-2500 mah back in

I draw about 870 - 900 watts at a max of about 40 amps.

headspeed in the 2000 range, a little bogging reads 1990 rpm on a ma tach.

motor runs about 130 degrees, packs i guess at 120 degrees (about as hot as they get sitting in the sun - blk shrinkwrap).

Nice setup. The 1910/1.5y really like the 8 or more cells. I'm going to go with the 9 cell configuration and a 9t pinon , gets motor into the sweet spot. From what i've read there is no bogging at 10 degrees.

7 cells is good for learning though , that's why i did the 7 cell route first.I still do plenty with 7 cell though. I'm rolling looping ,inverted hovers, roll followed by a loop, FF then flip then inverted ff. I'm a little better than i thought so i'm bumping to 9 cells

hey guys.

I started out with an axi 2826-08 11T pinion throttle set to 87% and a 4s 6000mah TP pack. motor got really HOT 186*F at one point It bogs like crazy in a loop only rolls for now and sucks at that stock and all the purple bling HS clocked at 1580 at the most kinda like a blade cp for power. LOL!

so now I have (ordered) a tango 45-10 10T or 11T pinion Heli max 530 CF blades rotorteck CF tail blades Flight power 6s 3700mah the new landing gear, and my friend and I painted the canapoy its sick! we primed it with dupli-color auto spray sandable primer (bought at auto parts III) fascolor orange to purble flames and yellow to green after that. I than took the windsheld off and sprayed spazstix color change paint and mixed it with a little bit of purple testors so its kinda sparkley purple see thru. than sprayed dupli-color auto spray clear top coat. only the dupli-color paint is spray in a can.

Ill take pic's in a coupple days.

Thanks a lot for your answers guys....
I think I will buy a pair of V28 packs instead of lipo.....
With a 9 or 10T pinion, which should give me 1800-2000 HS approximately....
Have a nice day

G'day guys,

To add to the set-up library, after about 20 flights, this is what I have found is the best balance between cost, weight and performace for the Swift, for sport and soft to medium 3D:

ecs: Align 75A (sold for the new Trex 600, good to 6S and a very nice slow spool-up). Easy to program and a great price too!

Motor: Zpower Z30 red. 1100 kv motor, has a in-built fan, and works very well. This outrunner motor is not as well balanced as the more expensive ones, like the Actro's but it is still pretty good, and it's great value.

Pinion: 10T, will try 11T after battery break-in. Beginners should probably use a 9T pinion (and training gear).

Battery: Evo 20 (new formulation, I think?) 5s1p 3700

Head Speed: 2000

Blades: Century Rotor Tech 515mm CF's. Great blades but too bad they are all-black, hard to see ones. I added a couple of strips of holographic tape and they are fine! The Stock 520mm woodie's are almost as good.

Flight Duration per type of flying...
Hover: 7-8 min
Mild-Average: 6-7 min
3D: 6 min

Comments:
This is the quietest, smoothest running electric that I have ever flown! You need to spend a lttle time balancing blades and paddles though. Try a little bit of tape on a blade and see if it makes it better. If not, try it on the other blade. To fine-tune it even more you can try this proceedure on the paddles and tail blades as well.

I found the stock 3D paddles a bit too twitchy and pitchy for me and am using stock Logo 10/16 paddles. I might try the Logo 10 3D Paddles latter, but for now, this heli is my 'Heli of Choise.

This is one great heli, thanks Century!

Cheers,

Tom C

After battery break-in I went to a 11T pinion. This worked great and I found that the light stock 3D paddles were fine with the higher headspeed (~2100).

Peak Amp load is now 63 amps and the average load is about 30 amps. A 6 minute run is putting back around 3000 mah.

I think that this is about the best I can expect for a 5s1p 3700 Evo 20 set-up. It flys great and only bogs a bit on hard 3D.

Cheers,

TomC
